@DragonZakeruga one reason is that you don't have record background audio option clicked much like how fraps records audio, you can record either through your mic or through your speakers

nice.. but how do I change the audio input?? Been looking around for hours to find out.. audacity is working for recording, and it always has, but recently it started becoming worthless. I'm into recording guitar covers, and after a while of recording, audacity makes the track rush, so at the end of a 3-4 minute song I'm like 10 seconds out of sync...

ok i knew it had 2 do with that damn automation button, but i couldn't figure it out! i was hoping it would be just a pencil and u can draw what u want like other audio progs...nope! thanks for clearing that up.

you can use the invert track to clean up audio by setting a mic off in the corner of the room or something which records a secondary track of room noises.

Then, if you invert the track, you can cut out all of those noises (or some) and end up with a cleaner tone.

This can also kill the sound by thinning it out. However, if you know what you are doing, you can later add a room tone and do other things to recondition the sound.

Drag the song who want from itunes to your desktop. Go to Vegas and file import > Media. Locate your song on the desktop and open it.

Wow, that's just the thing I'm looking for.

Only it seems to work a little different in V9.

For example that "automation"-button is also not on the track-module.

I have to like "insert an envelope" which brings up a line and you can add dots to move around to adjust the volume or pan.

I'm not sure if you can still play and move the sliders around, but I know you can "draw" the line without playing it.

No programs can do that, especially no free ones.

You can try but usually both audio's are altered.

Only professionals know how to do it since the voice recognition from the music is hard to find.

A decent amount, but since it isn't an audio editing program, not as much as programs like Audacity or ACID.

It isn't necessary to make an entire tutorial dedicated to such a simple task. It would take me 1 minute to explain it. It's not an effect, you grab the edge of your clip until you see a wavy line, and drag it left or right.
