I would first like to say I love all your videos! I think it is wonderful what your doing here. Keep up the great work!!! My question is what about our scent when were setting up the snare and trying to divert the animal into it using close by material such as that thorned branch? Don't know if you already covered it. Thanks in advanced.
will that cable snare an elk? I live in the southwest (New Mexico / Colorado area) and Elk are very abundant. I'm guessing that if the cable were secure enough it would be capable of this if it was secured to a large enough object.
@CMLovejoy CRP= Conservation reserve program. It's a government program where landowners are paid a nominal fee to leave their fields fallow to allow for feed and cover for wild life.
Great video. Quick question: Do you bother with saplings to spring the snare traps and other similar sorts of natural springs or gadgets?? I have made some of these for experimenting but never used to catch anything for real so I don't know how well they work. Thanks for your videos.
WOA-Dave! Great Series - yes more more more... you probably get tired of hearing that... always always waiting for teacher to speak and you speak volumes... thanks so much...

It is illegal we are talking last resort survival only here.

just curious. when a buck rubbs its antlers on a tree why does it do that? to leave sent? or just to scratch an itch?
A5G36C 3 years ago
Usually early season it's to remove velvet after that it's to practice Fighting and build neck strength as well as leave sent for other bucks.
wildernessoutfitters 3 years ago
@A5G36C
Usually to rub off velvet..but also to place sent from his orbital glands on his head.

you can snare them if your lost and need food but its probly not legal to just go out and snare them, check the local / state /province laws

can you post a video of the things you catch or caught in your traps.
junebug55571 3 years ago
