  • Whats the best lateral delt workout that barely engages the Trapezius?(neck/shoulderconnector muscles?). I'm looking for something that 'only' targets the lateral delts.

  • @warspectre

Side later raises, especially the machine variation is good for this. I've got a video called "How To Build Cannon Ball Sized Delts & Wide Shoulders" that shows this move.

  • YOUR BREATH TECHNIQUE IS A BIG FAIL!!!!!

  • @FAHBRECORDS

Well post up some videos and show us all how it's done :-)

  • @FAHBRECORDS hes doing it right, suppose to hold ur breath through entire rep

  • this guy is fuckin enormous.

  • man locking out like that looks like it hurts ouch

  • Training past failure requires more recovery time. Sometimes faster progress is made w/lower intensity & shorter recovery time, fitting more workouts into the same timespan. EX: Ultra-intense bench improves x% per workout, recovery takes 1 week. Less intense bench improves 2/3x% per workout, recovery takes 4 days = faster progression.

  • Lee would this be considered the same as doing "X-reps."

  • @steveh1010

Yes, some people consider partial reps "X-Reps".

  • Can i use partial reps in tricep cable extension pulls?

  • @TheIRONMANPRO

You could, but I personally like to use it for bigger compound exercises rather than smaller isolation type exercises.

  • @160n3rd - LMAO.. Keyboard gangstas.. lol

  • An just to be clear, don't lock up your elbows when you reach the top of the movement. Enjoy your workout!

  • As a biomechanical engineer I can say that you could isolate your deltoids by performing a V shape movement, starting at the stronger range of motion (the last 4 inches of the movement) and ending almost at the top of your head. Never lower the elbows beyond your ears level. You will be able to lift heavier weights and avoid joints problems.

  • @160n3rd You shut your little emo ass and stay the fuck out of my conversations, it's none of your business. Stupid little faggots

  • dannyboogs shut your stupid fucking mouth, post a video of your physique and learn how to spell before coming in and bashing other peoples video. If you don't have anything good to say, then please wash out your mouth with a revolver.

  • this is seriously pathetic, he is using a fucking machine, it you cant have proper technique with a machine then your seriously fucking something up. second every shoulder movement you do you recruit other muscles to do the movement, its impossible to issolate your shoulders, and third the more you continue to do those short half reps which is still shit technique then your just going to turn your growth or hytroperthy work out into an endurance work out which if anything you will see lessgrowth

  • Can You Do That On The Bench With A Spotter?

  • noob

  • Thats alotta weight...

  • he sounds Canadian

  • this is why i do negative curls after my biceps are totally done.

the more you do after you are tired, the better the gain!

  • dont stop your breath while lifting weight.. it gonna increase your BP.

  • HORRIBLE FORM --TOO MUCH MOMENTUM AND ASSISTING MUSCLES DOING THE WORK RATHER THAN LOADING THE MUSCLE--

  • @Bosaudio You can't isolate your shoulder -.- Not even lateral raises is completly isolated.

  • i really enjoy your video, please allow me to hold your biceps one day. thanks

  • great tip lee..thanks!

  • Good job man, but I am suggesting to do multiple takes and then edit and take the best ones and make a complete vid, this way the stuttering or fuckups you might make are not there and it makes the vid look a bit smoother

Good job on explaining overall though

  • a fat steve-o.

  • @klarkratu

if he's fat... then I want to be fat too.

    You are retarded.

  • whoever is on the cam needs to ease up on the fat burners...they are shakin like a leaf

  • Enjoy your presentations Lee thanks a lot.

  • you could always go super slow and contract on those you cant do rep failure

  • Comment removed

  • yh man thats the way train to failure but i never new about the burn as u called it thanks man up most respect

  • @ilovebritishbulldogs

The burn is an acid that releases in your muscles, I can't remember the scientific name for it. You'll feel it in your muscles as they start to get warm and heated, hence it being called the burn, however, you can still do more reps while the burn has set in. For me the burn normally sets in at around 6 reps.

The important thing is that when the burn sets in and you are doing more reps, with the burn set in, this is the period in which the muscles grow.

  • lee ur the man!, people at my gym kept tellin me i was an idiot but i do that same thing, and of course im getting crazy good results!

  • Yeah man your right nojokenygren he is a skinny guy a bet this AmericanPowerBase

  • needs to brush up on his definition of muscular failure

  • i love how this guy is talking about good form and partial reps, yet his negative movement is just as fast as the positive

  • Hey, is this muscle failure:

I was doing my bicep workout, and it got to the point where I was doing more then normal.

After a while, my arms started to shake in the middle of my hammer curls, and I couldn't lift it all the way with my left arm. I just waiting a few seconds about 30 and I could do them again.

How long do you wait inbetween reps?

  • well muscle failure is the point when your arm cannot lift the weight to the level it was lifted when you started the set, for hammerheard curls. your muscle will feel tired and unable to finish the set. with a bit of rest the muscle will be able to start up again.

i'd say you definately were experiencing muscle failure

  • thanks for the tip.......looks like something to try....

  • arghh that guy soo bulky, i workout heaps but i just get defined easy, i dont get big bulky like him.. :s

does it matter if im not that tall?

  • u look like a bulky steve-o

  • @nojokenygren LOL.

  • @nojokenygren lmao u do look like a swole ass steve-o

  • @nojokenygren haha, he really does

  • @nojokenygren wow he does eh like exactly haha

  • Your Chest looks so good through that shirt.

  • I thought of you a couple of times over the last few weeks, I'm from England & went to USA for 3 weeks & got back yesterday, N on route I flew over St Johns there n back N it had it's name on the map N straight away I thought I'm flying over my favourite internet workout coach right about now haha, N it explained the Irish twang in your accent as it's the first place you would come to if you sailed from Ireland so I'm guessing loads of Irish sailed N settled there at some point in time!

  • truth be told, i only said that because mudflap from transformers revenge of the fallen did. but he really a pussy.

  • All u fuckin faggs are way to emotional stop writing me pointless shit no matter what iz said I dont fuckin agree get over it and all u lil faggs couldnt hang wit ME in the weight room nor could yur guys boi friend u keep running to save in the video!

  • yo, BigAss46, i think lee's been a bodybuilder for over 15 years and he knows what he's talkin about when he gives advice. And instead of bragging about how ur probly stronger than lee, y don't you stop talkin and post a vid.

ps. i look forward to your angry response...

  • Hey BigAd, post a video of you in the gym. It doesn't count if you can bench 300 pounds but you're a fat ass that wouldn't be caught dead on the beach with his shirt off without PETA trying to save you by throwing you back into the water.

  • that's cuz yous a pussy...

  • God shut up BigAD46, no one cares what you have to say.

Maybe you should show a little respect , it will carry you a long way.

Oh, and learn to spell whilst you're at it.

  • @BigAD46 can you bench 445lbs deadlift 530lbs or squat 525lbs? cuz Lee can and i'll personally outlift you btw unless you are above 1155 lb club

  • @BigAD46 can you bench 445lbs deadlift 530lbs or squat 525lbs? cuz Lee can and i'll personally outlift you btw unless you are above 1155 lb club that means i deadlift 405, squat 405 and bench 345 at 18 is not too shabby but if you can do more than bravo but learn who lee hayward is by visiting his website then decide on wether or not he deserves respect

  • lEE KNOWS IS STUFF!!! BECUSE OF his ADVICE I HAVE GONE FROM SKINNY TO MUSCULAR!! SO YEAH THANKS LEE

  • Im a body builder myself and lee has great advice so dont listen to the dumb fucks like BIGAD46 he dont know shit. if you dont like what he has to show you then dont fuckin watch But lee is great

  • WOW thas the dummiest advice I ever heard. Doin half reps defeats the purpose of doin it at all, like in football when yur tired in the game and cannot give it 100% anymore u come out and recover, its the same way in the weight room as well when yur muscles are dead yur suppose to stop not keep goin B cuz thas how u open yurself to serious injury, then what yur out of yur routine for 2 or 3 weeks maybe months! Its sad they let anyone talk about things they noe nothin about! WOW!

  • Lee Hayward is a professional body builder who competes in competitions. First off, his workouts are designed for his goals i.e. competitions. He's interested in getting his muscles BIGGER, not training for sports.

Secondly, these are ADVANCED movements. Not something he suggests you do every workout but as a way to mix things up and shock your muscles every now and then if ur ADVANCED. When you've been competing as long as Lee advanced movements r necessary 2 challenge his body.

  • well said

  • first of all your a muff and a tard for saying hes a pro- bodybuilder cuz hes no where near that, and secondly b4 he started posting these videos he should of learned to work out properly.. Im a certified personal trainer and bodybuilder and even a 3-year old would know that straightening your elbows at the top of your lift is gonna destroy your elbow joints...no offence to Lee but hes teaching alot of people to workout the wrong way, and not just in this video

  • LMAO...a muff and a tard!!?!?!?? What are you three??? Do your research before blasting people. Yes, he is a pro body builder. A simple google search for the different competitions in his state and throughout the U.S. will show that. Secondly, certified personal trainer means....well....nothing. And you are SUPPOSED to straighten your arms on a military press. Just don't LOCK your elbows. Get your terminology right mr. personal trainer. Idiot.

  • and before you come back with some idiotic response, there's one way to solve this really quick. Post a video of YOUR physique and YOUR workout routine and let the world decide who'd they rather listen to. THe proof is in the puddin'...so put up or shut up.

  • why dont you post a video, on how to do them right.

  • Your a fag keep your dumb comments to yourself

  • your must not have listened to a thing he said. you do your max number of reps, and then you these partials to try to push your self more and tire out your muscles more. and also learn to spell

  • know how the hell do u know the way ur 'suppose' to train is bigAD? theres no clear cut method.

this guy is huge and cut. who would listen to ur stupid comments wen u dont make videos with advice. if u dont like his tips, dont fucking put him down. hes doin more good than ur fuking doing.

  • dummiest? noe? hahaha you're the "dummiest" guy ive ever seen!

  • That was OK but im sure u could of done more real reps

  • I think it's funny how the related videos for me are showing things on train wrecks. I guess that would be "train to failure" also.

  • hilarius xD

  • great tip thanks

  • are you suppose to be locking your arms like that on the way up? it looks pretty rough on your elbows...

  • when u do shoulder presses you wanna make sure u lock out on top to get a full squeeze and a great contraction of the muscle, trust me you'll feel a differnce if u do

  • Thanks for the new vid! I've been doin' these approach though, and it is effective. Is it commendable to do a 6 days on 1 day off workout (1 body part a day) and do partials for each with machine movements?

  • Dead weight in Power rack Lee. just like you tough us

  • Can't wait to get to the gym...

    Thanks

  • thanks man. you got heart as well. keep training bro!

  • thanks lee! great advice once again..

  • Watch the video

  • great video ..thanks for posting Lee

  • I like that brother,i use the same machine,i will try the way how you done it deffently.

  • where you can't do any more proper reps

  • sounds good

  • guessin this is for a very advanced lifter though....

  • keep em coming lee

  • very qood

  • say, it this another variation to the pyramid sets? like we drop the weights, but wif full ROM. it also maximize growth stimulation right?

  • Good idea, thanks!

  • I do the same thing when training back. since back is one of my weaker muscle groups..

  • dang maxing out the shoulder press? nice
