Excellent. Thanks for posting this. I watched it on BBC 2 the night of the first broadcast and taped it. The tape is nigh on worn out now so it's good to have it archived here. I never thought Gregson and Collister transferred the quality of their live work to record which was a shame.
Good to see RT during his emaciated trucker phase.
I saw Richard/Clive/Christine et al several times on their US tour and it was always this good, but doing mostly RT songs. The shows were were documented on a VHS tape called "Across A Crowded Room-Live. For reasons that go beyond inexplicable, no one has ever seen fit to release it on DVD.
This couldn't have been long before Christine started singing the lead and really turned into a great song....sorry to offend Clive, but she did have a better voice!
Saw this one live all those years ago. I remember RT did a couple of sessions for Whistle Test around the same time - one with this band.
Saw them live at Leeds Town Hall in July (I think) the same year (Gerry Conway on drums, though), and they were superb. Clive and Brendan Croker in support. A good evening out. Must've been, as I still remember it 23 years later.
I remember scrabbling about to get a video tape to try to record this back in 1985! I went out and bought the record the next day. One of the highlights of my life is Clive Gregson playing this for me at a concert. Inexplicable how such terrific music was overlooked by mainstream radio here in the UK. Superb....
Thanks for posting this clip. Thought I'd never see it again. It was this performance on the OGWT 22 years ago that made me investigate who the funny looking chap on guitar was. Been a massive RT fan ever since. Saw Clive )who's no slouch on guitar either ) with Christine Collister a couple of years later and was blown away, have tried to get to as many of her gigs as possible over the years as well. So thanks again, absolutely brilliant
Fabulous. Great to see them again.

Clive and Chris performed in South Wales several times in the 80s. Fabulous people and performers. Wish I'd caught this combo!

I was wondering that. He looks a bit like Tom Jackson.

The bass player is Phil "Digger" Barnes .. a long time colleague of Clive's .. he was the bass player in Any Trouble

Gregson, Collister and Thompson, the very best of 80s music.
Saw them in 86. Richard's gig, but what a show!
Thanks for a great post.

This was one of the great Whistle Test sessions. Two of Clive's best songs with an awesome band.
Thanks for posting this clip, youve made an old(ish) man very happy
