Great video no question and mashing this all together is very, very tough I get that but I woulda loved to hear HK's call of Schmidt's 500th jack..unreal call for the NL's best ever 3rd baseman. A few other omissions would be any of Randy Moss's TDs from his first couple seasons and MJ's final jumper (didn't scope all the comments to see if others mentioned these clips)
a badass american runner, was the favorite to win the Olympic gold Medal, was about to win the gold when some no namer tripped her in the last 200 yards
I'm sorry was wrong about the erthquake; her name is Nancy Kerrigan she´s a Olympic Medal winner and she was atack with a sledgehammer by Tonya Harding in a "conspiration" and he scream "why me, why anybody" you can check it on wikipedia.
There's a long drive... it's gonna be, I believe...THE GIANTS WIN THE PENNANT!! THE GIANTS WIN THE PENNANT! THE GIANTS WIN THE PENNANT! THE GIANTS WIN THE PENNANT! Bobby Thomson hits into the lower deck of the left-field stands! The Giants win the pennant and they're goin' crazy, they're goin' crazy! HEEEY-OH!!!''
and a shot on Ehlo gooooood the bulls win the bulls win!
Bobby Hurley up the floor to laettner they throw it the length of the floor laettner catches tucks down dribbles shoots Scoooooorrrrrres! Christian Laettner hs hit the bucket at the buzzer! The blue devils win it 104 to 103 lookout minneapolis here come the blue devils.
Congrats to those who put this together at ESPN! The passion with which the clips and audio was edited together shows they understand the history of sport in America and how it weaves a thread through society. It is truly an epic video!
it is Eddie Robinson, the legendary coach of grambling football, Im assuming it was at his retirment in 1997..coached for over 50 years, one of the most winningest coaches in college football....died in 2007
The man at 3:57 is Gordie Howe, and the girl at 5:25 is either Shamika Holdsclaw or Tamika Catchings. Not sure which one, they both played at Tennessee.
It's an American Company covering amateur and professional sports in the United States, so what do you expect? I don't completely agree with the order that ESPN ranked them, but for those of us who have lived in the United States all of our lives, this is a good representation as to who we think are the greatest athletes of the 20th Century.
Kirk Gibson's pinch-hit walk off home run against the Oakland A's closer Dennis Eckersley to win Game 1 of the 1988 World Series. The great Jack Buck with the call.
Thank you for capturing and posting this. I never thought someone would have the mind to record this segment. I remember watching the ESPN New Year's Eve show that night over and over again just to see this video.
