in the end i;m kind of happy michael bought the songs, if not it would of belonged to some millionaires that know nothing about music. michael gave paul a chance to buy them he refused cus they were asking for so much. so mike made a bid then all of a sudden paul was interested but couldn't out bid michael. but in the end yoko said it was for the best. michael is an artist. & if anyone where to own it it should b an artist, just football teams should be own by ppl who love football, not saudis
how fitting that both of these 2 people would later win the Kennedy Center Honors give by President Obama and the Kennedy Family- at the same year (2011)
Paul obviously wasn't upset about Michael buying the songs..Paul didn't buy it right away, so Michael took the opportunity. If it wasn't Michael, someone else would have bought it..and we know Michael spent most of his money on charity in his life. Michael was a smart business man and Paul can't be upset about it if he didn't jump at the chance right away because he knew how much it was worth. The audience are jerks to be so rude about Michael when they don't even understand whole story.
@monitchka its not that Paul didnt buy it- its that Paul didn't realize or understand how music rights worked- he didnt ever think about having his music bought or sold. Micheal bought the music fair and square, and later Paul got it back, so in the and it all worked out
@4FabBEATLES Paul knew very well how music publishing works. Paul's company, MPL, is one of the world's largest music publisher, it owns the rights to several hit Broadway musicals, including Grease and Annie. The previous owner of Northern Songs copyrights, ATV, held a sealed one-bid auction. Jackson simply outbid Paul. Michael later sold a majority stake of Northern Songs to Sony.
The best gifts Paul and Linda ever gave each other were their children. That says it all. I'm sorry Linda is gone. What a wonderful marriage.
