  • yup the frame rate is low- I have a similar problem with my DIY 3d webcam but your 3d is very... 3d!

  • I think you're probably right about this video on YouTube: it's probably running at around 10fps. There is probably some quality deterioration when the video is uploaded and transcoded in to YouTube format. When I was installing the Minoru 3D I had to connect it to a USB 2.0 port directly to the PC. A built-in USB hub on my monitor did not work. Maybe that could be your solution? I would also check to see that Windows has actually installed USB 2.0 drivers for your USB 2.0 ports. Let me know.

  • I am fairly certain that my USB 2.0 configuration is fine, but that is interesting to know about your experience using a hub. steve1811uk from Minoru has suggested that I try recording in better lit environs (admittedly i keep my basement office very dimly lit.) I am going to try that tonight. Also, you metion 640x480 being the max, do you see a 800x600 option in your minoru capture software ?

  • The CMOS sensor that is inside the Minoru is probably going to do a lot better in environments that are bright. You can see this in compact digital cameras too (except for some Fujifilm models that do exceptionally well in dim-lit rooms). Let me know how it goes with the quality of the recording from the Minoru when you increase the brightness of the room. Continued...

  • Continued from previous comment: I do see a 800 x 600 option but that is probably software interpolated since the hardware is limited to 640 x 480. I tried to record at 800 x 600 but the framerates drop quite a bit to a point where it is almost not usable. I hope this helps!

  • good vid. image quality is great, fps doesnt seem to be much more than 10 though, but that might be youtube. i am unable to capture at a rate any better than ~5, using any resolution... minesadorada has posted a couple vids with much better framerate. maybe a pal/ntsc thing ? i'm still trying to figure out why im seeing such poor throughput.
