You could do all the calculating you wat to figure this out, but you cannot calculate human error, if he pushed off a little too hard or lightly, or went down the ramp one degree out to left or right and he would've missed. It must be fake, or he should buy a frickin lottery ticket.
Why would anyone think this is fake? People take risks to have fun ALL the time. These guys could have messed up but they took time to plan and lower their risk. He could get hurt badly, but in reality, This is a lot safer than other things...
@Saohesc it is fake it was on a tv show cant think of the name but they got hold of the people who made the video and they said they did it in a lake and just edited it to make it look like a swimming pool in the middle of a field.
that was kool, y are people negative, physics do involve math, the only people that actually dispute this are people that didnt take one course in that subject
If this were real the guy would of died or caused a near fatal injury that would of broken his bones. the Volume of water in the pool is not enough to take such an impact from the potential energy he built up going down the ramp. but other than that cool video
@BlackMamba23977 you've obviously never attended a physics class. Math is to Physics what Masturbation is to Sex. I'm not saying that the search for greater mathematical truth is meaningless unless that search reveals new useful information about the world in which we live, but rather that an undergrad physics student spends their entire first year only doing math.
I wouldn't doubt it is real as I wouldnt doubt it is fake. physics can be that precise, they could have tried before with another object of same weight and proportions.
I think it is fake, people started screaming too late after he hit the pool.
What's more, even if it's fake, it still involves a lot of math! :D All this CGI stuff involves vast amounts of math before you're able to create even a short movie like this one.
Math is important. So is common sense and curiosity; you could make the guy hit the pool all right, but he wouldn't get up by himself just like that...
i love math. it is absolutly possibly to use the weight of the guy , the length of the slide and the projected acceleration to determine the distance of the pool on a windless day
@BlackMamba23977 Possibly a combination of both, definately there are some mathematical equations and or calculations regarding distance, speed and weight.
@666Slayne I think you dont understand what this post is about ...btw once you have your mass and weight and distance , you will need some math to figure it all out...everything is related to the other in some way...plus its just a post of a interesting video not a forum on whos right or wrong...relax my friend..
Math can only give you an idealized estimate, nothing more, so to entrust your life on an idealized estimate would be rather foolish to say the least. But this video OTOH has probably been "photoshopped" one way or the other. Anyway, if it gets kids to study more math then it was worth it :)
@111Socrates777 When constructing an airplane or a car, you're dealing with precisely known ranges of external forces, you are not dealing with rough estimates. Additionally, you've got considerable user input (steering wheels, gas, brake) to counter unexpected deviations. The guy in the video doesn't have steering wheel, gas or brake and given the way he's flying in the air I doubt he knows the precise range of the external forces applied on him. So, even a minimal deviation could be fatal...
@unapologeticmind So, yes, you always apply math but never math alone. You calculate precise physical real-world measurements of possible ranges of external forces and you give the user/driver an option to add input to the system according to his own sensory and visual estimates...

air resistance is also only important in physics

reel?? I dont think so.
The splash looks like something fall from high above and and that someone "fly" with that speed in it.
The water splashes upwards and not away from the flight direction.
But anyway, it is very cool to see something like this.
