I found this out as a straight dance instructor with women all around me "paying for every dance... selling each romance". Women are reluctant to date you after awhile, and you "ain't got nobody... and become sad and lonely". That is how l relate to this song, as I teach styles of dance that were around long before this song came out. There have always been gigolos (call us male prostitutes if you like). Be well.

Have you heard of the pop-band "Camera Obscura"? Or even the funk-rock "Red Hot Chili Peppers" for a popular, well-known example? Music and musicians are always moving foward and wanting to go backwards just seems silly to me.

@feebleolinus I had what is probably the most unique experience a kid can have. When Louis died, Sam Butera the sax player kept the band going. From 81-83 my step-dad played lead sax (Sam's old spot) in the band. I spent my summers/Easter vacation on the road with the band, most of that time in Atlantic City, NJ. They played at Resorts International Hotel Casino. I was only 10-12yo then, but it shall forever remain an unforgettable experience & among my most memorable/nostalgic memories!

np, that advice was free of charge, ;) I think this version is by far the best. but, louis prima is so old school, my dad doesn't really like him. 60s and 70s and 80s, even today's music kills much of the 50s crap, at least louis prima was there to make the 50s a little less awful. thanks for viewing and posting comments. i'm sure you'll eventually get over the brothers who must not be named. just kidding, i was only trying to pass some friendly advice, not be an ass.
