Glad she didn't kill Ron. The story wouldn't be what it is without him. People don't give Ron enough credit. He's one of the most real character of the book. He's not as smart as Hermione and not as powerful as Harry but he doesn't let that stop him and still continues to fight beside him. He's moody and aggressive( how a teenage boy is meant to be) but he's still a caring person. I hate how the fandom gives him such a bad rap. Ron's a good friend with a good heart. He deserves more respect.

Guys, stop complaining about how she killed so many great characters. A good author must kill people the readers like, because if she writes "Voldemort killed 20 people", you don't care about it, you didn't know them. Only if she writes "Voldemort killed Ron", you really get how terrible it is, and that's what makes you want Voldemort destroyed, that's what makes you really care about what happens.
@MsPseudonyma But the best author doesn't need to take to desperate measures to find which main character they want to kill just for the sake of tears and heartfelt goodbyes. The best will draw up another method and a legendary ending. Ex: In the third LOTR, the main characters live, but Sam and Frodo go in separate paths (two brothers by bond since birth) and are never seen until Sam dies and goes to Valinor where he sees Frodo again.

I think of the 3 main character's, Ron would be the best to kill off. @DanandEmma4EVA Even if Ron hadn't been in the books you've missed the fact that Harry and Hermione are incompatible as a couple. Hermione is by nature very wound up and has a low self-esteem. Harry doesn't have the patience or the time to deal with it because he's been through so much, he needs someone who is strong and positive - the female version of Ron if you will. I doubt Harry and Hermione would've even been friends without Ron, seeing as Harry hardly found Hermione as fascinating as Ron.

Ron set them free in a way, he took the pressure off. Around Ron, Harry and Hermione could be themselves. Around Ron, Harry could just be himself, Harry - not Harry Potter - and be loved for who he was.

If you love Harry, how can you not love Ron? Ron basically completes the character of Harry! As for Hermione, she was a very unconfident girl with a need to attain perfection because of that insecurity. She was always trying to prove herself so that people would accept her.
@DanandEmma4EVA Ron offers her the chance to be herself, she doesn't have to prove anything to him, he takes the edge of her personality, Hermione becomes more confident and grows up to be a beautiful, confident and intelligent woman. If Harry had been her partner, I don't think he would have been able to provide that for her (not because he is a bad person, but because Harry had bigger issues) Thanks to Ron, Hermione realizes that she doesn't need to be the best to be loved.
@DanandEmma4EVA Ron was vital for the trio, he was the heart, and he (despite his insecurities and immaturity) provided for Harry and Hermione with what no one had ever provided them. So, if you say that you would've liked Ron to die for dramatic purposes - I agree. It would've stabbed Harry, Hermione and the book in the heart.
Anyway, just sharing my opinion on these characters. Helping you understand them and the books better. Don't underestimate characters so easily!

@DanandEmma4EVA Even if Ron hadn't been in the books you've missed the fact that Harry and Hermione are incompatible as a couple. Hermione is by nature very wound up and has a low self-esteem. Harry doesn't have the patience or the time to deal with it because he's been through so much, he needs someone who is strong and positive - the female version of Ron if you will. I doubt Harry and Hermione would've even been friends without Ron, seeing as Harry hardly found Hermione as fascinating as Ron.

@DanandEmma4EVA Harry and Hermione would have brought eachother down as a couple - not that they weren't good friends. Ron was vital to Harry and Hermione's development as characters. Ron set them free in a way, he took the pressure off. Around Ron, Harry and Hermione could be themselves. Ron offered Harry friendship, unwavering loyalty and a family to call his own - Ron showed Harry what love is. Around Ron, Harry could just be himself, Harry - not Harry Potter - and be loved for who he was.

@DanandEmma4EVA So even if you don't like Ron and Hermione's relationship, you have to admit that the main bromance and most important relationship in the books is that one between Harry and Ron. If you love Harry, how can you not love Ron? Ron basically completes the character of Harry! As for Hermione, she was a very unconfident girl with a need to attain perfection because of that insecurity. She was always trying to prove herself so that people would accept her.

@DanandEmma4EVA Ron offers her the chance to be herself, she doesn't have to prove anything to him, he takes the edge of her personality, Hermione becomes more confident and grows up to be a beautiful, confident and intelligent woman. If Harry had been her partner, I don't think he would have been able to provide that for her (not because he is a bad person, but because Harry had bigger issues) Thanks to Ron, Hermione realizes that she doesn't need to be the best to be loved.

@DanandEmma4EVA Ron was vital for the trio, he was the heart, and he (despite his insecurities and immaturity) provided for Harry and Hermione with what no one had ever provided them. So, if you say that you would've liked Ron to die for dramatic purposes - I agree. It would've stabbed Harry, Hermione and the book in the heart.
Anyway, just sharing my opinion on these characters. Helping you understand them and the books better. Don't underestimate characters so easily!

Fred and George was AMAZING and im sad fred died, but i think she kind of did the right thing, if she whould of chose percy i dont think it whould be as expressive (is that a word? :O) showing hoq dark and depressing the war was.

@MsDiehardTwihard No, it wouldn't have worked if Percy had died, because most of the fans don't have the emotional attachment to him that they have to Fred :) Though I personally would like to take this oppurtunity to say that I LOVE PERCY. HE'S BRILLIANT. He's a pig headed git and makes an awful mistake... but then has the sheer human decency to realise it, back down and redeem himself. It's unjust that Snape gets so much love, and he doesn't, when their situations were very similar.

If Ron had died it would have been huge(as a scene ) and the whole epiloge would have changed.I believe that if he had died the happy ending would be missing, i mean he is part of the golden trio, both Harry and Hermione would be devastated.And i am not even a fan of him in the books.

You can always get a new best friend or husband, but you can't get a new twin.

I think it would have been interesting if Hermione had died. Harry would be absolutely nowhere without Hermione, she helps him so much. I think it would have been symbolic of this fact if she had been killed while helping Harry in the last book/movie.

Yes, Ron has the least key parts in the series, but doesn't Harry need a best friend? Didn't he say in the fourth book no one could ever replace Ron? And didn't he join him and Hermione when they went on their horcrux hunt? Everyone needs a friend that is normal, still special, you know? Ron is the "friend" in the trio, if you know what I mean? oh and later "love of my life" for Hermione.
