Love this lure, I always use the blue and silver one... works really well if you real 3 - 4 times, then pause, jerk the pole up, let it sink for a second, then repeat... almost all the hits I get are on the pause just before I start reeling back in.
I was fishing on the Delaware River in New York when we came to a small riffle, so small that I had time for only ONE CAST. I tied on a 1/8 oz. gold Kastmaster, and tossed it slightly upstream, then let it drift back on a semi-taut line. Then... WHAMO!!! After a hair raising twenty-minute fight, I boated a beautiful 9-pound brown trout!!! My first time on the Delaware,
my first cast, and my first brown trout. I've always had great luck with the Kastmaster, but this is one moment I'll treasure.
i agree kastmasters make noob fisherman surpass seasoned guys who have been fishing for 30 years lol. the other day i walked in bewtween a crowd of like 10 seasoned guys and caught a trout my 2nd cast then just walked away. i felt like a theif haha. kastmasters r the ONLY lure i ever use!
@wongkosiung highly,HIGHLY disagree....the Thomas Fighting fish in the color gold has outfished the kastmaster in every color! tie on a fighting fish next time.... i to used to use kastmasters but now that i've tried the fighting fish i will never go back.

I agree that they are a great lure. Last year at Henry's lake in Idaho the biggest trout of the trip (9.5lbs) was caught on a kastmaster!
