i think they will make an update that will make the wii play dvds since they did this. my wii didnt play the videos i recorded with my camera and after this update it does. so i have hope they will make an update for dvd playing.

Yea, I got an 8gig card for $15 including shipping off Amazon...and it's wonderful. I've got 4 pages of games and it only takes up 1/6 of the card.

All of my channels are on my Wii...

It's wonderful and amazing. I love it.

This update really pulled through if you ask me.

I also noticed that data transfer between the Wii and SD card is totally faster, as well.

One idea I could suggest them is to make it so you can send and recieve messages while playing a game. You just press the home button to read or write messages.

hmm, finally we get sdhc support and the ability to launch games directly from the sd card. Before it seemed nearly pointless to have an sd card in the wii. anyone know what happens when you take the sd card and put it into another wii and try to launch it from there. Does dlc come with a coding that makes it so you can only play it on the wii that it was downloaded on?

After I got 4.0, I put all my channels on my SD card, and I have a question about it. Are the channels saved in the same spot as the game save files are? And if they are, are they saved as the file, "content.bin" like how the save files are "data.bin" and do they get their own folder like the saves?

Yeah it's still blocked. If you try to play a game through the SD card menu that hasn't been purchased on that Wii, a message will pop up that says "This Channel cannot be launched on this Wii".

But still! No more wadding through dumb menus to play games!

It copies the Games to the Wii temporarily first thn plays it, if its a friends Wii than towards end up Launching you will get a "Failed to Launch" message

I deleted my Donkey Kong Country save data from the Wii's memory to see if it would use the save data on the SD Card for VC games loaded onto it. It turns out that it doesn't, and I had to start over (not really, I had the save file on the SD Card, so I just needed to copy it to the Wii again and I was fine). A few minutes ago, I went to "Data Management", and under "Channels", there was SD Card Menu Data for Donkey Kong Country. What's that all about? I erased it, too.

2. The HBC cannot be copied from sd to wii with this update so i wouldnt try deleting it from wii and seeing if it still works

in part2 of 2nd, i already copy ALL my channels and most saves to sd card anyways incase antyhing ever happened, so that included photo channel 1.1 update, internet, hbc and anything else that i was allowed to copy over

And by copying for backups, you can still run them off the SD Card without having them on the Wii at all right? (For example having Internet Channel on SD without having it on the Wii memory).

2 gigs is ALOT compared to what the Wii holds

they say wii is 512mb but u can only use about 256mb for channels and downloads 2gigs is 8times more than that what is allowed on wii for downloads.
