As a 30+ year insurance agent I've never heard of a company writing doctors a blank check. They do however, have to pay them enough to afford their malpractice insurance to defend against frivolous law suits.

Yes, I thought of that myself, but it is possible that they may just have a bottomless fund to draw from for their plan. Real Clear Politics just posted a new story - The Three Big Lies- which states 1. We won't be able to keep our current plans, 2. this may cost us 75% to 95% more, and 3. the quality of care will be less. I'll post the link in the info box.
