Wariner should be edited out of this video... I only wanna watch MJ run. He has a better physique and is more amazing than any other runner in history
@mModeration Liar, liar ... pants on fire! (The 400 metres world record - for an 18-year-old kid - is 44.60, or thereabouts. Therefore, it is patently obvious that you are not telling the truth.)
@sharktrinity Jeremy Wariner is probably blessed with a higher degree of natural SPEED ENDURANCE than Michael Johnson. (In fact, Mr Johnson has actually admitted this, in his recently published book, entitled "Gold Rush". However, one should not make the mistake of confusing speed endurance with STRENGTH. In my opinion, it is somewhat unlikely that Mr Wariner is superior to Mr Johnson in this quality - strength, I mean.
@Mattu190 The 400 metres requires a much higher degree of endurance - or, to be precise, speed endurance - than the 100 metres (obviously). But it is surely an exaggeration to say that anyone who can run a fast 400m can run competently at ANY distance. The physiological attributes needed by an athlete who aspires to be a world class marathon runner (for example) are VERY different from those needed by one who aspires to be world class at 400 metres.
@TheEctomorph I wrote this when is was a dumbass high schooler lol now that im 2 years deep into a human physio degree in college thats pretty clear to me now lol...
@phastman99 That may not sound particularly impressive ... but I think you will find that the big Jamaican was still only a kid of 16 or 17 when he ran the 400m in 45.28 secs. Moreover, his training regime - in those days - was that of a 200 metres specialist.
@AntonSlizzardhands F*** off. Jeremy Wariner is not a kid; he is a real man, and deserves to be treated with a great deal of respect. Michael Johnson himself has gone on record as saying that Wariner has the potential to break his world record for the 400 metres - which has stood since August 1999. I, for one, take Michael Johnson's views and predictions (about track and field athletics) much more seriously than I take yours.
@jimmyzzzzzaaaaa Donovan Bailey was a 100 metres specialist; Jerry Wariner is a quarter miler. They both deserve to be regarded as great athletes, but you can't really make a direct comparison between the two of them. It is a bit like comparing a goalkeeper to a centre-forward.
As regards Michael Johnson, he was a 200/400m runner who seldom competed in short distance (i.e. 100 metres). sprints. Therefore, you can't really make a comparison between him and Donovan Bailey, either.
@jimmyzzzzzaaaaa Sir: I am aware of the race which you are referring to. (It took place in the summer of 1997). Donovan Bailey did indeed beat Michael Johnson on that occasion. Let us not forget, though, that MJ - being, as he was, a 'long-distance' sprinter - was not ideally suited to the 100 metres dash ... or even the 150m, for that matter!
That said, Donovan Bailey was a brillian athlete - one of the all-time greats in his specialist event (the 100 metres).
@demathastags13 No, fuck off! Michael Johnson is a man of integrity and good character - as well as being (probably) the greatest 400 metres runner that has ever lived. ALL of Mr Johnson's glittering achievements on the athletics track - including his outstanding world record for the 400 metres, which still stands today - were achieved legitimately - i.e. without the use of illegal, performance-enhancing drugs. End of.
@demathastags13 Your question was a very silly one, to be honest. And, for your information, I am not an Internet troll. F*** off, you ignorant muppet.
@TheEctomorph wow i got confused with the names someone helped me out and told me a long time ago. ur a troll if i ever seen one instead of reading the comments you scrolled down nd bitched like ... a bitch. theres no need to tell someone to fuck off because a question get off of micheal johnson dick he has enough people on it already
@MostMuscularity No, I disagree. He is only 27 years of age ... therefore it is well within the bounds of possibility that he will be able to recapture his vintage form of 2007. It is worth mentioning that Wariner's fellow Texan, Mr Michael Johnson, was only a fortnight shy of his 32nd birthday when he broke the 400 metres world record - in August 1999.
I think that Wariner may well be one of the stars of the 2012 Olympic Games in good ole England.
Only an asshole looking for views would mis-title this like you did. Imagine seeing a video called "Ali vs. Liston" in which they didn't fight. You suck, douche. It should read: Johnson & Wariner.
@JoeyFudd MJ retired in 01, Wariner's career as an elite 400m sprinter started three years later in 04. Ur the one that was actually dumb ass enough to think Wariner would be racing his own agent in the first place.
@phastman1994 "Ur the one that was actually dumb ass enough to think Wariner would be racing his own agent..." No, what's wrong with racing your own agent? Are you sure they haven't? Both can still run. There's no law against it. Jim Brown raced Franco Harris, even after Brown retired. Gotcha there! No, that's not the issue and a feeble weasel-like defense by you. You're the one who implied they were racing in YOUR TITLE, not me. THE ISSUE IS THE FLAW IN YOUR TITLE. How you're a liar.
@JoeyFudd Well no shit they can race anytime, but not to the point where it's competitive, which is what I assume you were crying about. And "You're the one who implied they were racing in YOUR TITLE" lol what are you talkin about fuckin goof?! this isn't even MY video dumb shit.
@phastman1994 You say, "not to the point where it's competitive." How the hell do you know that? You don't, since you don't know the date the race could have taken place. You are the one making dumb assertions, yet you call someone else "dumb shit." I didn't check to see if your name matched the video poster, because it didn't matter, since you were defending the title, and my point was that THE TITLE was misleading. That you could not refute, so you clung to a collateral matter. Buhu!
@JoeyFudd if the date took place in 01, back when MJ retired, Wariner obviously wouldn't have been the sub 44s 400m sprinter he is now, if it took place in 04, the year Wariner won his first ever gold medal, MJ would've been well past his prime. So it doesn't matter when the race took place, it wouldn't have been competitive anyway.
Nothing is impossible. The 200m record was said to be unbreakable but usain bolt shattered it like a piece of cake. if usain bolt trains 400m, with his leg length, gg below 43s or even 42s is totally possible.
bolt cannot break this world record of johnson.400m is a very hard track event.bolt has not power but only speed.this is the reason that bolt afraid to start 400m.
@SuperMatzik Actually, Usain Bolt has a great deal of power. I think that what you mean is that he does not (at the present time) have a great deal of SPEED ENDURANCE. That said, a gentleman who is capable of returning a time of 19.19 (for the 200 metres) into a slight headwind cannot possibly be LACKING in this quality (speed endurance).
It remains to be seen whether the 6 foot 5" Jamaican speedster decides to make a serious attempt to become a world class quarter miler. There is no doubt
@SuperMatzik [Continuing on from my previous 'post' about Usain Bolt]: that he has the physical potential to be good - very good indeed - at the 400 metres. However, whether he is capable of breaking Michael Johnson's outstanding world record [43.18] is another matter. Let us not forget that, in the whole history of track and field athletics, no man has ever managed to break the world records for the 100m, 200m AND 400m. That said, it would not astonish me if the big man goes on to
@SuperMatzik [Continuing on from my previous 'posts' about Usain Bolt]: run the 400 in less than 43.18 seconds. Mr Bolt is an INCREDIBLY talented athlete ... and a natural born winner.
@colton1809 no he wouldnt, bolt is fast, but training for the 400m would be a whole new thing and he would have to change his entire workout focus and it would maybe take a couple years to get close to a 43.18
@MrIjijijijjiji True, but It wasn't, it's actually his slowest 100m split, it appears to be faster because he's pulling away from everyone but really he's just maintaining much better than everyone else is. MJ's 100m splits here were 11.1, 10.12, 10.44, and 11.52.
This is only pure endocrinology. STH, testosteron and so on. There is no clear elite track and field today. Everybody who wants to "live" in this world have to use the chemistry. This is such simple.
400 meter training is totally different respect 100 and 200 .. that's why jeremy can't run under 20 sec in 200 .. I really like bolt and I respect him .. but I seriously think that he can't run under 44 sec
@juninhopernambucano3 you my friend are seriously mistaken ... Usain Bolt started his career running the 400m. If for a second you think he can't then you need to do your research
@juninhopernambucano3 if usain actually tried he could easily break 43.1 comming from the guy who doesnt go full out and still runs 19.30 200m then 19.19 though usain bolt has always been known for running faster times than michael johnson since a kid but bolt said that he will run 400 in the future i mean one of his team mates named greg haugton(44.5) told me about bolt becuz greg trains me and lives in the same city as me he say's that at age 16 bolt ran 46 for 400 so ya he could break :)
@juninhopernambucano3 Jeremy probably can but in the 400m you can give it all you got in the first 200 and burn out and lose the lead on the last 200...you pick up on the last to...give it more than your best
@juninhopernambucano3 Well, you MAY be correct in your belief that the big Jamaican sprinter is not potentially capable of running the 400 in under 44 seconds. On the other hand, you have to remember that Michael Johnson - a guy who is exceptionally knowledgeble about 400 metres running, and the qualities that it entails - genuinely feels that Bolt has got what it takes to break the world record in that event (which currently stands at 43.18).
400 meter training is totally different respect 100 and 200 .. that's why jeremy can't run under 20 sec in 200 .. I really like bolt and I respect him .. but I seriously think that he can't run under 44 sec
MJ had better competition than JW... much better... I'm not even sure JW would'be been 2nd behind MJ in his WR race
the resolution is pretty bad... was his final top speed 33.34 km/h? JW's was 32.78... but I have to say that MJ's last 100 sprint was magnificent... wouldn't be suprised to see Bolt going after the last great Michael Johnson's record, this one, very soon
@Bakr3ni Wariner's competition when he ran his PB of 43.45 in 07' was harder than Johnson's when he ran his 43.18 in 99', it was from 92' to 95' where Johnson had harder competition in 400m.
I believe thats just there average speed, and I honestly can't see Bolt breaking MJ's WR anytime soon, it might be possible one day in a couple years if he's determined and trains hard for it, we'll see..
Just because one can run the fastest 100 and 200 doesn't mean its a automatic win for the 400meters. Its almost a different skill and it breaks into different muscles. If Bolt was able to take MJ's WR from him on the 400meter, I would be shocked. Any of these great runners are amazing though and I give them total respect.
@gonzo299 Oh Bolt, is amazing and I'm not gonna put anything past him! We will see, maybe he has geared his training for taking the 400. Needless to say, I'm gonna be on the edge of my seat if he is in the 400m for 2012!
@TheTruthHurtsYup In a recent event, Bolt almost beat the 300M WR. If he practiced more he will surely (and i'm around 89% sure) beat the 400M WR in a few years. I mean think about it. He's 23, he improves his stamina, endurance, and even speed each track meet, and all that does in a few years is well..... IMPROVE.
i think quite good times are coming up in 400m scene. Wariner hopes to bounce back, Merritt has been good, Kirani James is improving rapidly, Bolt needs to be motivated :D of course it would be nice to see other new names in the mix...
Jeremy Wariner messed up when he left Coach Hart. Ironically when Lashawn Merrit started beating him and he started running constant 44's. But he went back to Hart now, I'm very curious/excited to see him get back into shape. And in time, get into BETTER shape than he was before.
jeremy who? casar7 are you really comparing jeremy wariner to Michael Johnson, the GREATEST 400m (and 200m) runner in history. give me a break. Yeah I said 200m also Usain
he's gonna break the record in London , hands down !

@ThatGuyZay sadly that's highly unlikely. Karani James is the new threat to the WR.

@juninhopernambucano3 you my friend are seriously mistaken ... Usain Bolt started his career running the 400m. If for a second you think he can't then you need to do your research
Dapasweet 6 months ago
@juninhopernambucano3 if usain actually tried he could easily break 43.1 comming from the guy who doesnt go full out and still runs 19.30 200m then 19.19 though usain bolt has always been known for running faster times than michael johnson since a kid but bolt said that he will run 400 in the future i mean one of his team mates named greg haugton(44.5) told me about bolt becuz greg trains me and lives in the same city as me he say's that at age 16 bolt ran 46 for 400 so ya he could break :)
MrSmokeythedragon 6 months ago
@juninhopernambucano3 Jeremy probably can but in the 400m you can give it all you got in the first 200 and burn out and lose the lead on the last 200...you pick up on the last to...give it more than your best
MiicahHD 5 months ago

@jakewidsrocks
Johnson - 43.18
Wariner - 43.91 (but Wariner's PB is 43.45)
phastman1994 1 year ago
@phastman1994 om wait exuse me OMG
jakewidsrocks 1 year ago
MJ had better competition than JW... much better... I'm not even sure JW would'be been 2nd behind MJ in his WR race
the resolution is pretty bad... was his final top speed 33.34 km/h? JW's was 32.78... but I have to say that MJ's last 100 sprint was magnificent... wouldn't be suprised to see Bolt going after the last great Michael Johnson's record, this one, very soon
Bakr3ni 1 year ago

TheTruthHurtsYup 1 year ago
@TheTruthHurtsYup i agree but bolt is also good at the 400 he ran it in high school and he ran a high 44 i beleive
gonzo299 1 year ago
@gonzo299 Oh Bolt, is amazing and I'm not gonna put anything past him! We will see, maybe he has geared his training for taking the 400. Needless to say, I'm gonna be on the edge of my seat if he is in the 400m for 2012!
TheTruthHurtsYup 1 year ago
@TheTruthHurtsYup In a recent event, Bolt almost beat the 300M WR. If he practiced more he will surely (and i'm around 89% sure) beat the 400M WR in a few years. I mean think about it. He's 23, he improves his stamina, endurance, and even speed each track meet, and all that does in a few years is well..... IMPROVE.
ShadowNightGamer 1 year ago
@ShadowNightGamer 89% sure, lol, what a statistic
TheTruthHurtsYup 1 year ago
@TheTruthHurtsYup Lol, oh well. You can keep living in the past but, in the future Usain Bolt will beat Johnson. Johnson is still a legend although.

i think quite good times are coming up in 400m scene.
