  • "that´s the probrem" hahaha....

  • @mjaooow his character is born and raised in russia!!

  • @noclassatall cheese filled, thanks.

  • I have the origional album both on vinyl and on cd, I also have the musical version from west end on cd. The origional is by far much better :)

  • I just auditioned for my school's production of this show. I love Anatoly's part, but hopefully I'll get freddy if I get anything.

  • Tommy Körberg has a wonderful voice but he wreally needs to practice his english....

  • @mjaooow Yeah... He wreally ought to practice his English.

  • Josh Groban is a voice from heaven :)

  • Is there a soundtrack of the West End version? Because I know the stage show is quite different from the original concept album but i wanted to listen to it!!

  • The West End version isn't much different than the concept recording. The major changes happened when the show moved to Broadway.

  • Pardon, I didn't know you were that sensitive.

"When remembering that the role is said to have been written for Tommy, it's not surprising that his voice suits it the most. Josh Groban is far too young."

  • They were rude to demand that you post your comment in English. But I'm glad you did anyway so that I can agree with it. :) I love Chess and Tommy is perfect. Thanks to AllyHouse86 for sharing with us.

  • this song is so so invredible nice!!!!! ^^

  • Have heard three versions of this song and this with Tommy K is by far the most gripping. Jävla fin artist den Tommy! Slår Josh Groban 6-0... ;-) I also like this slower adaptation better

  • Med tanke på att rollen ska ha skrivits med Tommy i tankarna, är det knappast underligt att hans röst passar bäst. Josh Groban är på tok för ung.

  • @finnhere2 One of the three was tDavid Carroll on Broadway? Cause I like that one best...but tastes differ, obviously!

  • @HermioneNo1 I've heard a David Carroll -version too, and it's also very good. I like Tommy Körberg's timbre better, but that's purely a matter of taste, I tend to like "darker" voices. Josh Groban-versions are far too fast for me, too rushing.

  • @finnhere2 I actually heard a fourth version first, by Dennis DeYoung on his 10 on Broadway album (on where it astoundingly does not say which musicals the songs are from...ts...). I don't like Josh Groban's version at all - he sings it like an automaton, devoid of all feeling (and that opera voice...*shudder*). This original here is slower and at times slightly out of sync, but on purpose I guess...interesting!

  • @HermioneNo1 I guess just about everything on this recording was made on purpose as it was the original cast and I believe that A&U were very precise on what they wanted. I totally agree about JG, I only got into bad mood when I heard his version here on YT.

  • @HermioneNo1 hmm first time I've heard this version. I like it. I like Josh Groban's too. Opera voice brings good shivers. That song I thought he has more emotion than any of the rest of the play.. lmao I dunno, haven't seen Tommy's version of the character in action but going to assume he has a much different take, maybe better or not. But they both got serious singing chops :)
