The man was a true professional and genious. He never opened his opry portion show with the same song. He also was the only country singer to start and finish with only one lable. What a sweet person, he is greatly missed.
Hank was a very close mmeber of my family! Not by blood, but he called my Grandmother "Mother", and my mom was a rodeo singer on thr Calgary Stampeed and met Hank, as he was from nova Scotia!! I am from NaSHVILLE, as Hank lived htere and helped my Canadian mom move there!! My Mother sang with Hank!!
Brilliant video, Hank is such a watchable character, this is great footage of him and the band. He is my biggest influence at the moment, I can't stop wanting to learn more and more of his songs.
Yes, it was videotaped in black and white. ABC did not go to full color in prime time until the '66-'67 season, I believe. Maybe the only color show they had in prime time from 1960-'66 was The Flintstones, besides specials, but am not sure.
who made up the Rainbow Ranch band. i have an old lp of his but no musicians mentioned.

I believe the ryhthm guitarist is Howard G. 'Johnny" Johnson.....noticed that he also worked on some Flatt & Scruggs recordings.....

I love this clip. Goooood songs. And, the worst hair piece Hank ever wore! Really good quality. Kinescope?
