John left the band due to a combination of Anthony being stubborn and just the general situation he found himself in. It was unbearably unpleasant for him to find himself in a band that large that quickly. Read Scar Tissue.
it's sad johns time in this era is coming close to an end. his album shit's gonna rock my socks off though for the next 20-30 years...but after that....when he dies, idk what i'll listen too...
In light of John's departure, this was hard for me to watch. I've been listening to Californication since I bought it as a third grader ten years ago, and it still hasn't gotten old to my ears. He's the melody, the funk, the rhythm, and the soul that you love about the Peppers. Josh's collaborations without John are lackluster and Josh's voice sounds prepubescent and forced.
JF just has a way of recording music. for instance in mainstream music if your are going to have a reverse guitar lead over a rythm analog recorded guitar, the listener will immediately turn it off. JF has the best musical ideas in his first two albums i think. i like his avant-garde take on music. i love frusciantes innovation
yeah it does really close strumming pattern and chords........actually alot like it probally playing that with extra stuff on top ...still sounds great
chad said he helped john a lot to get accustomed to the band, cuz anthony always was pickin on him, chad taught him howto use his voice and stop idolizing his fellow bandmates and demand to be an equal in the band, i dont think that there was a problem with chad, with this being said
But in an even more recent interview he said that he always played Black Sabbath with Chad, that was their way to get along or something like that, I think he said that on the Itunes Special...
No he didn't have any problems with Chad, In a recent documentary (in holland) he said in an interview that one time he was sitting on a bench with flea and flea asked him:''Is there anything you like about playing in the band?'' and John answered:''No, no there isn't except that I love playing with you, and I love playing with Chad, And when I'm playin and I'm looking at my amp or at you it feels good'' He didn't mention anythin about Anthony though,
you cant involve anthony in this really though, as he doesn't play an instrument, john will use what flea and chad play whereas anthony is left out a little bit because he can't really make an input.
@ChilichickxX do you mean anthonys deep lyrics? Johns lyrics are infinitely better. You do listen to his solo music, yes? but i agree the peppers need anthony as well
True, but you know there was a considerable amount of friction between John and Anthony in the early years. I mean, just read what AK wrote about the SNL performance of "Under the Bridge," which is a great performance, if you ask me. Anthony, on the other hand, was pissed off... but later on, when the band re-united for Californication, John spoke of how much Anthony became a better person. It's on Youtube, just search "John Frusciante interview." It's a good one.
that's true, but more recently he was giving an interview to music radar about his newest album, the empyrean, And on the end of the interview, the interviewer asked him about the relationships between him and the other members of the band and he answered him that he didn't want to comment on that with the mic on. He didn't want to say anything about it, which sounds pretty negative to me...
he didnt ask about the relationships...he asked whether the band had any plans, he said he didnt want to comment...why would he talk about the chili peppers when the interview was supposed to be promoting his own album
@ZuthphenNoord have you read scar tissue? the reason he had problems with Anthony is because Anthony basically showed him tough love, and John thought he was just being a dick
@ZuthphenNoord He didnt love Anthony at the time. And the time he's talking about was back in like 1992. The reason he left after Blood Sugar was mostly Anthony..
@ZuthphenNoord I agree to whoever put that john had problems with Chad, because he never did, he enjoyed playing with Chad, Besides that fact, Chad is a crazzzy solid drummer, the only problems he may have had would be with anthony , it doesn't matter if he plays an instrument because he is still expressing himself like the rest of them , its all in the vibrations, and his voice gives vibrations just like their instruments
John looks alot like Jesus to me. I'm not saying he IS Jesus though. I wonder if john still feels the same now, if he doesnt like it when fans come up and call him a genius or that hes "fucking cool". Does he still not like having fans?
i honestly doubt it. If he didnt like the direction the RHCP were going he would just quit again. Im sure he realises now that he just had to get used to it.
Although when he did quit in 1992(ish), he said he wasnt having fun with the band, he said the only time he was having fun was when he was jamming with flea, so i think he had a problem with chad, and athony at the time, can anyone confirm this?
that makes more sense to me. But if you think about it would you like being in a huge band that everyone loves and would you like fans coming up to you and asking for you autograph and telling you your so awesome. I dont think I would like it that much because i think thats just the kind of person i am. And i also agree that it was probably chad or anthony.
ya, i think its chad or anthony as well. Cause i just watched the VPRO interview 1993/1994 and he said he loved playing/jamming with flea and thats it, i would like to know what actually happened though
Yeah i saw that vid. I also think he quit because like when they were in the mansion making music he had no idea that bssm would be worldwide, like he never once thought about that. But you know at least they got back together , its all in the past.
i can confirm that he was only hapy when jammin with flea.. and i know he was a lil uncomfortable with anthony cause in an interview he was talking about an interview he did with anthony and he said he was misreable i think that was in VPRO..
ya i watched an interview where he said he only liked jammin with flea, but dont know what he thought about anthony or chad at the time, a part of me thinks john wasnt getting along with AK, and CS at that time.
My Favorite John quote. "Music is going to be made whether any one artist is here or not. If John Lennon or Jimi Hendrix had disappeared, music still would have gone on, changed, grown, and been the beautiful thing that it is. You take away the music, all you have are the individuals, and they don't mean anything. The individual is nothing, it's the music that's in the air all the time that's important, and you have to be humble in the face of that." Sum's up the mans state of mine beautifully
oh dudes this is shocking, why am i getting thumbs down...when people asked how its play, and i replied...and people are like ooo thumbs down because i explained to someone what hes playing....what the hell....?im just commenting on the theory of john frusciantes stuff, god im guessing i was loving john frusciantes music before some people had heard of him...my days why all the negativity towards me when i just made a point?
I don know man... How can you call this music nonsense and simple like that as a loving fan of john frusciante? Theory's nothing to me in listening and feeling the music. I guess thats why i like to listen to Flea more than Victor Wooten, who by the way another really awsome player
because thats whats awesome about john frusciant...his music is simple, and he works that to an advantage because he can do stuff the right way, hes not like erm dunno Dragonforce over the top rubbish, he just does the simple stuff and thats whats awesome...because its simple, yet who else can write it?No one, but it doesnt take the fact away that its simple music, and all i said was to someone who asked how he did it, and i was just answering....
because, its the simple stuff but played perfectly, its like for example the G major chord, the most perfect notes to be played over than in a solo that will sound the best are G B D as they are the notes in that chord, and its simple stuff, but john frusciante does that...and try the same way, basic stuff, because no point in being advanced when you cant master basics JF QUOTE: ''You can't break the rules unless you first know the rules''....:D
typing was terrible there sorry, i meant the notes that can be played over that* not than, and to say and i try the same way, but yer, its like you do it in a simple way master the basics, and for example Synyster Gates, has mastered the basics, and does it at speed and with more.....for an example, my two fav guitarists, John Frusciante and Synyster Gates :D
ok i understand. yeah i like syn to. but now i like more like.. steve vai joe satriani. anyways lol yeah if you master the basics its alright. not like humm.... herman ree in studioforce that does whatever he can in the less time possible...
Satch is good yer, in that super group with Chad Smith from the chilis atm aint he, Steve vai is good though seen him in concert was awesome not into shredding as such though, not enough feel to it...to like mechanical.
does anyone else feel like the speed he actually played this was somewhere between the two? Sped one up and slowed one down? thats what it sounds like to me.
both versions are in key, if you know what i mean. the sped up one is a full step higher note-wise (as far as i remember). i'm guessing the slower one is the original, although there could be an in-between version
its actually a little slower, and hes not just playing it slower, he slowed down the tape(actually i think he just sped up the tape on untitled 6). its not just adjusting the tempo but the pitch too. I guess he just thought they were both equal and decided to put them both on
he's really a true inspiration for me,great musician, great person,he's been through a lot of shit,a lot of pain, you can hear it in his music,in his playing...love it
what a legend i love him and his unique approach to music...which is where i get my styles and ideas from which is awesome....arpeggios for example of two chords here make such a great tune...yet no one else done it before
its arpeggios dude...for the main ditty arpeggios from Ab minor...then the first 5th and octave of B major scale...and then going down to the arpeggio of F#...then the same pattern of first 5th and octave of the E major...so really just two chords...essentially..i cant be arsed with the interlude...its too late at night to bother.
Damn... his just amazing... his geniuos. I love his music, I'm big RHCP fan, but he's my very best, he can express everything when he plays, love it...
For a guy who released the album just to "get money for dope", it's amazing. This is my 2nd place clip from Niandra Ladies, with the unadorned #2 being my favorite. The images are to die for! You did an excellent job!!!
i love the pic at 1:28 can someone send me it?

John couldn't get along with Anthony. He jammed a lot with Flea and Chad. When he played on stage he looked to Flea, Chad or into his amp.
He didn't like the whole thing that they were going to be world famous. That's why he quitted AFAIK.
John looks horrible using heroin, but in the VPRO interviews, he's just still the same guy somehow.

oh dudes this is shocking, why am i getting thumbs down...when people asked how its play, and i replied...and people are like ooo thumbs down because i explained to someone what hes playing....what the hell....?im just commenting on the theory of john frusciantes stuff, god im guessing i was loving john frusciantes music before some people had heard of him...my days why all the negativity towards me when i just made a point?
Ardolino1 2 years ago 2
I don know man... How can you call this music nonsense and simple like that as a loving fan of john frusciante? Theory's nothing to me in listening and feeling the music. I guess thats why i like to listen to Flea more than Victor Wooten, who by the way another really awsome player
poket1000 2 years ago
because thats whats awesome about john frusciant...his music is simple, and he works that to an advantage because he can do stuff the right way, hes not like erm dunno Dragonforce over the top rubbish, he just does the simple stuff and thats whats awesome...because its simple, yet who else can write it?No one, but it doesnt take the fact away that its simple music, and all i said was to someone who asked how he did it, and i was just answering....

theoric wise, john is incredible. my guitar teacher was explaining me how one of his song was made. by "simple muic", what does that mean exacly?
a7xforlife12 2 years ago
because, its the simple stuff but played perfectly, its like for example the G major chord, the most perfect notes to be played over than in a solo that will sound the best are G B D as they are the notes in that chord, and its simple stuff, but john frusciante does that...and try the same way, basic stuff, because no point in being advanced when you cant master basics JF QUOTE: ''You can't break the rules unless you first know the rules''....:D
Ardolino1 2 years ago
typing was terrible there sorry, i meant the notes that can be played over that* not than, and to say and i try the same way, but yer, its like you do it in a simple way master the basics, and for example Synyster Gates, has mastered the basics, and does it at speed and with more.....for an example, my two fav guitarists, John Frusciante and Synyster Gates :D
Ardolino1 2 years ago
ok i understand. yeah i like syn to. but now i like more like.. steve vai joe satriani. anyways lol yeah if you master the basics its alright. not like humm.... herman ree in studioforce that does whatever he can in the less time possible...
a7xforlife12 2 years ago
Satch is good yer, in that super group with Chad Smith from the chilis atm aint he, Steve vai is good though seen him in concert was awesome not into shredding as such though, not enough feel to it...to like mechanical.
Ardolino1 2 years ago
okk yeah. john frusciante has alot of feels in his songs

i mean john wasn't really fucked up on niandra, he had recorded most of those songs already. it was smile that he was down

does anyone else feel like the speed he actually played this was somewhere between the two? Sped one up and slowed one down? thats what it sounds like to me.
bhealy32 3 years ago
yea.maybe he did do that and no ones knows what the actually one sounds like..shitty lol
oppsydoodles 2 years ago
both versions are in key, if you know what i mean. the sped up one is a full step higher note-wise (as far as i remember). i'm guessing the slower one is the original, although there could be an in-between version

i can`t undarstand why is untilted 7 is just a little fasted up untilted 6?he was too fucked up?
k0stil 3 years ago
its actually a little slower, and hes not just playing it slower, he slowed down the tape(actually i think he just sped up the tape on untitled 6). its not just adjusting the tempo but the pitch too. I guess he just thought they were both equal and decided to put them both on

this songs pretty good considering how fucked up he was.

what a legend i love him and his unique approach to music...which is where i get my styles and ideas from which is awesome....arpeggios for example of two chords here make such a great tune...yet no one else done it before
Ardolino1 3 years ago
more like 4 chords
LfunkeyA 3 years ago
its arpeggios dude...for the main ditty arpeggios from Ab minor...then the first 5th and octave of B major scale...and then going down to the arpeggio of F#...then the same pattern of first 5th and octave of the E major...so really just two chords...essentially..i cant be arsed with the interlude...its too late at night to bother.
Ardolino1 3 years ago
its not 2 chords, its 4 chords

For a guy who released the album just to "get money for dope", it's amazing. This is my 2nd place clip from Niandra Ladies, with the unadorned #2 being my favorite. The images are to die for! You did an excellent job!!!
