You inspired me to also start a long healthy hair journey.. my hair was middle back long - curly- but sooo dry and dammaged by dying and stuff.. I cut it today, under my jaw line. It's hard but hopefully in a few years I'll have really long healthy hair ! so good luck to all of you trying this journey ! I love your videos, I subbed <3
@stillGLAMORUS Hey:D Good luck with your hair journey...I am also doing something similar to you...I am currently on my 218th day of my hair journey...I too want my hair long..it was long but it looked so dead at the ends that i cut it really short..also to my jaw line...Now i do not use any heat...what-so-ever-...on my hair..so no blow dryer, curler or straighteners....I love all of your channels and videos..your beautiful..you look like mandy moore but sound like J-Lo hahaha <3 Keep it going!!
i'm doin all the same stuff you do... except i still color... i'm a hairdresser so, i have to keep up with the color! i LOVE moroccan oil shampoo, conditioner and oil! i still will use fusion hair extensions as well. so we'll see how it goes! i've never had damage from the extensions... and as far as color goes i'm only going to do it every 8 weeks or longer. but i've been washing it about 2 times a week, and that's the only time i heat style. so we'll have to see how it compares!
I cut my hair like this almost a year ago, i dye it, flat iron it, everything but ive stopped. I dyed my hair about 2 months ago, and that was my last time. I only flat iron my bangs, but BLOW DRYING damages your hair so much, so i let my hair air dry. I havent used any hot tools in about a month and my hair is already healther and growing, its about 3 inches past my shoulders. i use oraganix moroccan conditioning treatment as regular conditioner. plus i only wash my hair every 3 days. It helps!
ah, i did this last year in 2010. i got a haircut (didn't get a lot taken off though) and i stopped coloring it. i let my natural color grow out and i believe i went 6 straight months without putting heat on it AT ALL. i also deep conditioned it everyday for a week and then deep conditioned it about, once a week until the bottle ran out.. and did not purchase another. just used my regular conditioner like normal after it ran out. this TOTALLY helped my hair!!
Hi! I stumbled upon your channel when i was looking for tricks to keep your hair healthy. I have dry, split ends and stupid layers in my hair, so im also considering cutting it all up to my shortest layer, about as long as the hair on your pic. Thanks for putting this up, id like to know how youre keeping care of your hair through your vids, so im subbing! Hope you keep this up :) Much love, and gl!
You should try using WEN instead of regular shampoo. It's kinda pricey, but well worth it. I blow dry and style my hair with hot tools nearly every day and color it as well but I very rarely have damage or split ends. I only have to trim my hair every 8-12 weeks. WEN is magic in a bottle and you can get good deals from QVC.
i just cut my hair to my neck after I bleached it several times and it was falling out. i am so looking forward to your hair tutorials. i got a couple of Organix moroccan oil products and I love them. the are so conditioning. good luck on your journey!
Im growing my hair out with you lol I just had my ends cut off a few weeks ago and im trying to let it grow now :-) I also had to cut it because of underactive thyroid causes your hair to get more thin than it normally should be, that is while you are in the waiting process of getting the right treatment, like I am now :-) My hair is shoulder length right now...
I am really looking forward to your short hair styling tutorials. My hair is just now the same as yours after 3 months of growth. You are going to make my journey so much easier!!!! Thank you!!!!!
this is such a coincidence because i was planning to grow my hair out too! its been getting soooo damaged throughout the years and im ready to get it healthy!
I am on this journey with you. 2-3 months ago I cut my hair shorter than yours is... and it's growing so quickly! Good luck, you'll hate doing this but it will be so worth it.
hey, gotta question: i want to wash my hair less, i wash it every other day but when i dont wash it for 3 days it gets really dirty and i dont even use many hairproducts .. what do i have to do? #helpme
This is a great way to encourage others as well! Your soooo pretty! I had my hair cut quite short, and iv been growing it for about a year, and not using much heat or anything, and it definitely made a difference. It's made my hair thicker, fuller and it's grooowwwwwn!!! -3 x
i been using natural aloe vera, avocado oil and grapeseedoil in my hair 3 times a week. for about three months and my hair is softer, healthier and looks very shiny.
Prenatal vitamins or fish oil vitamins are really, really, really good for your hair. They help your hair and nails grow really fast. My hair and nails grew like crazy while I was pregnant. I stopped taking the vitamins because they made me a little nauseous and they are pricey.
Hey Hun I'm looking forward to your short hair tutorials. I have short hair like yours I cut it for the same reasons. I'm just lost on what to do with it I'm waiting for it to grow. They say pregnancy helps hair grow not for me lol
I'm in the same boat as you! i got my hair permed last year november and the ends broke off so it was cut to my ears! o since then ive dyed it, put extensions, highlighted, cut it and it's still barely to my chin! so for now I'm taking fish oil tablets for shiney long hair and collegen for hair and nails and prenatal vitamins! (only half dose though) but I know if im gentle with it and do weekly coconut oil treatments it should work faster. good luck to you!
ha! i decided to do this at the beginning of summer. My first time not going blonde for summer. no more dying for 2 years. a beautiful head of long virgin hair. im happy to join this journey with you.
I'm getting married on October 8th this year. I've had an inverted bob for. Couple yrs now, I'm deciding to grow my hair. I've done it before. Just some tricks for u, try any home remedy hair mask they work wonders! And I also was taking hair skin and nail vitamin! Good luck
oh i loooooooooove this volg i myself had a hair cut 4 months ago and started taking care of my hair with masks , vitamins and all but then i stopped so ur volgs r gonna get me back on track thanx <3
Thank God for dry shampoo! I don't wash my hair every single day too so I won't damage my hair by straightening it every single day and using a blow dryer. It helps so much. Good luck Kasey,.[:
i went through this the past several years.. my longest layer is all the way down my back now and the rest is in layers throughout.. i wash my hair 2-3 times a week, i use a hair masque.. i do olive oil treatments regularly which has helped the health of my hair SO MUCH.. my perm (5-6 years ago) REALLY damaged my hair but now my stylist tells me its super healthy:)
@ivonner32 It's not eww if you don't get oily hair that fast. I don't, so tha'ts how often I wash mine too. It's the healthiest thing for your hair, I always get compliments on how thick, shine good conditioned hair I have at salons! The hair/scalp gets used being washed frequently if you wash it every day, you produce more oil that way to recover from all the drying washing.
I got a side cut and can kick my self in the butt. Ive been growing it out and now the side is just past my ears. I use Doo Gro shampoo and conditioner and only wash my hair every 3 days. I also take hair and nail vitamins. Yes they are actually called hair and nail vitamins. They contain Biotin and Lutein and something else. So I will be on this painful journey with you. I also get a hair dusting( slight trim) every 4-6 weeks.
Growing out my hair has been so annoying and painfully frustrating... I wish I never cut it off in the first place :( I used to take my long hair for granted - but once I get it back, I will be SO HAPPY! (My goal is lower back)
I have been doing the same thing for like the last two years, patience mama patience. But supplements help, like biotin, gelatin, skin hair and nail pills. All of that!
Power to ya!
*I do not take gelatin because I am a vegetarian, so just know that it is an animal derivative.
oh this is GREAT! just what i need at the moment! i dared myself and became a hairmodel a few days ago and they cut my hair in a way that i do not like it and i am planning to grow it back as fast as i can! So i really look forward to your vids to see if you have any tips for short hair and for growing it back!
I would love to see a video on how you got started in owning your own make up line!?? Being a new mommy( to a 4 month old boy ) and being able to stay home with him for the first year is great! But maternity leave is up next year, and thinking of leaving him to go back to work, scares me! Makes me want to find ways of working from home LOL :D
@sassybunny23 she actually does have a video :) if u look in her stillglammom vids its from LAST year july..its called my age kids and business-smth like dat..jus look thru da videos n ull find it, its pretty interesting..p.s. she has a baby GIRL ;)
@stillGLAMORUS Hello! I tyed bioton and it made me break out about 2-3 days in of taking it. If you have dry skin it may not have as much of an effect on your skin becuase I have oily combination (my t-zone is oily) and cheeks never brake out , but it might not be worth the risk becuase I go to a dermotologist and since I haven't broken out at all-until biotin. But I do recomend lots of water, massaging your scalp, and using a bore bristel brush. Best of luck!

@stillGLAMORUS I started taking it last week. Without it I have NEVER had a break out problem. But now I have HUGE internal blemishes. My hair grows fast, but I had a very disconnected hair cut that looks awful growing out. I am a hair dresser, but I do not believe in the every two to four week trim. Not every persons hair is that fragile. I'd also suggest getting a Sultra flat iron and blow dryer, because they're designed to prevent damage. As far as Biotin? I need to recolor my hair. It works!

In between washes, I always use the Pink Sugar hair perfume from Sephora. It smells amazing, kinda like cotton candy. It helps give your hair a really good smell on the days that you dont wash it.
...and as short as it may be cut - never let the stylist do layers or razor your hair (thins out the ends) if you plan to grow it out. The thinned ends will require often trimming so No. And it will cause the hair to get even more split ends because of the already thinned one. Try to get a straight as possible cut.
I swear by Biotin (2000mcg) and Vitamin B complex (100mg).. my hair grow thicker and grew really quickly.. try it out!! I was trying to grow out a really bad brazilian blow out that I had in March of this year.. I had to chop off around 6 inches.. after taking biotin for couple of months I noticed a HUGE difference.. my hair was even better then how it was prior to the whole blow out and what not..
Oh my goodness you're doing sorta the same things/guidelines as me! This will totally help and motivate me even more! Thanks for these vlogs coming up; I'm pretty excited.
Im with you .... my hair is also short and just got a haircut last week ;) but my true goal is to let it GROW !!! although I my hair (same as mine) every three months or so because of a little thing called silver hair :( Im starting to get them one by one ahhhhhh, but yes im with you kc. One thing you mentioned about invisible trim is it something that is known or must it customized??
a good tip so you don't have to get your hair cut as often is to go through regularly and cut off as many split ends as you can find, this is what blake lively does with her hair and it's long and amazing. also coconut or argon oil helps it grow and makes it sooo soft and smell amazing
i know this sounds very primitive but you can dry your hair in the sun. just stand there and turn in different directions. the sun will help develop vit d and the heat also kinda removes any kinda bacteria and dandruff etc
I have really thin and fine hair too.. Is there a shampoo and conditioner you can recommend for me. Every time I use conditioner, a lot of my hair falls out. Help me please!!
I really want to get my hair healthy again , I need to cut my ends asap but I wear clip in extensions n I wanna keep wearing them . If I cut my hair , n put the extensions would it be obvious I have extensions in bc of the hair cut ?
Me too I'm trying to grow my hair back :))) last summer my hair was about 1-1.5 inches long and now my hair is little longer than my shoulders - even if I cut the ends every 2 months.I'm using products with Bur oil and Bur oil itself and absolutely love them!
I grew out black hair dye in about three years. My hair was well past my shoulders and I had about three inches of black left when I finally had enough and cut it! I now get highlights every few months and find that my hair is in fine condition.
my hair is hella long, it's a pain to maintain but i wouldn't cut it for nothing. i love my hair even if it's a frizzy, thick, poofy mess lol. i dye my hair every 2ish months and do a deep conditioning after i dye it. i cut my own hair whenever if feel my ends are really bad. typically hair grows about a half an inch a month but of course it's different for everyone. that's the average : )
I am letting my hair grow too. Doesn't your hair smell bad when you don't wash it. At the end of the day my hair smells already the smell from cooking and from outside. have you tried the dry shampoo I received a sample but haven't tried it yet.
Your lucky you don't have grays, that's why I have to color my hair. So I figure if I am coloring it I mise as well try a different color, Good luck with your hair!!!
Im also trying to grow hair long healthy hair...I read that the GNC vitapack would help me achieve healthy beautiful hair... so yea hopefully they'll help(:
I think you made such a wise decision. I've had my natural jair for about 4 years and I've achieved the length I always wanted...right below my waist, yes, super long. But it's natural and healthy and that shows!! I also don't use any heat more than once a week and I wash it whener it looks to dirty yo handle. I also think diet is very important, lots of protein makes it super shiny anf strong!! Can't wait to witness your journey! XOXO
i think its great that you are trying to grow your hair...i've been growing mine out and also do the things that you are planning on doing...i wash my hair every day because i work out every day, but i only use heat once a week...my hair is in the best shape it has ever been!
Blowdrying and flattening once a week not damaging? It's better than everyday, but it's still damaging. Even washing hair in water that's (too) hot is damaging.
EVERYBODY! Can YOU who is readin this please ! check out : youngandfabulouss : she is an amazing person :) really pretty and does great videos ! please show a lil of support :) I know shell appreciate it ! please do me and her a favor ;D ? Pretty pleaseeeeeeeeeeee
Im excited about your journey..I know it's going to be hard 4 you since you like to change ur look very often but i know u can do it u wont regret it. ;) i havent colored my hair since July/2010..and i have cut it only 3 times and my hair is almost 8 inches longer now it's very long, thick and healthy i dont even wear extensions anymore.. ive been tempting on getting highlights but then i remember all the hard work i have done ..negative!! wont color my hair again in a long long log time!
im trying to grow my hair out healthy too! im getting married next month and wanted to have the coloring right before to be as true as possible, and not get hot roots. so i havent colored my hair since Jan for my bday. its been hard! but my roots are almost to my ears now!!
Great Video... I am also trying to grow out my hair after getting it all cut off. Biotin Vitamins are great for your hair and also you can Google Monistat Cream, yes.. it is strange, and sounds VERY odd... but there are thousands of women putting it in their heads to make their hair grow.. and it REALLY works because of the ing. in it. There are even reviews on Makeupalley as well. Nexxus is great, I love their products as well. Hope this helps you somewhat. Hugs & Kisses, Love.. Shelley xXx
Thanks for doing these videos! I want to grow my hair out too.. I just got it cut a couple of weeks ago, but it's waayyyy too short. All I said was "layers, but please keep my length" but do they listen? Of course not lol. So now I'm on the painful journey of growing my hair out again (and I had just gotten it to a decent length that I liked) Anyways I'm looking forward to these videos!
You should try Wen cleansing conditioner, trust me, it works so perfect, just like the commercial says. You're hair will be so healthy with it, you don't need anything else.
@silyrabbit68 I've been wanting to get that for a while. But I have really oily hair,so would it still work the same ?Cuz I heard it makes your hair really oily.-_- Thannnks. :)
@TalaMary I don't have really oily hair myself, but he has said you just have to be sure to rinse it out really well. You should give it a try, you might have to use more or less then he recommends, comb it through and rinse really good. It has cleanser in it- so it's diff then just putting a plain conditioner on your hair. It makes my hair feel like mink fur or something, it's beautiful.
@TalaMary Try the DevaCurl or DevaCare line (both can be used for curly hair). Wen get the waxy/oily feeling because it still has some plastics in it, and I have heard it's not entirely water soluble. Deva is plastic free and is 100% water soluble.
@silyrabbit68 DevaCurl (or Care's) No Poo and One Condition are great too, and Wen actually has some plastics, while the Deva-lines are plastic free and 100% water soluble.
i only flat iron my hair once a month at the most and i never blowdry it..and my hair grows like crazy!! i natural curly hair so all i do is air dry it.
I did this about a year ago now... back in aug 2010 I decide to stop dying my hair and let my natural color grow out... I had damaged it so much dieing and flat ironing it that it was so dry n lifeless so... little by little I was cutting my hair untill March of this year I got sick of it and chopped all the orange ends off in one shot.. it was a little shorter than yours but has grown out to my shoulders now I only get it trimmed now and it feels amazing!!! your going to love it good luck!
Check LolaMarie7..... She has a review of this hood with removable gel packs that you heat up and wear while having a deep conditioner on your hair. She is a hairdresser by profession and recommended the product! Also, try taking biotin....it's a natural B vitamin, great for hair and nails.
i recently cut some inches off my hair as well and i'm trying to grow out healthier hair, but i just can't seem to stop flat ironing my hair...i always say "i'm gonna wear it natural" but always end up straightening it cus i hate my natural hair...it's so big and frizzy...i'm def gonna try and straighten my hair only once a week...
I've been growing my hair since 2 years... It was a bit shorter than you have actually.. And it has grown since then! I'm now classified as long hair (yeay!) . I use the CHI infra treatment shampoo, the Redken Extreme Cat once a week and the Redken Extreme conditionner. After the shower, I towel-dry it and I put a no-rinse treatment which is called Redken Renewal (or something in these lines) to rejuvenate my hair. I've had a long past of chemicals in my hair, and now it's healthy!:) Good luck!
Great video I just did a review for Nisim F.A.S.T shampoo & conditioner it is suppose to help the condition of your hair and make it grow 2x's faster than it normally would.I really hope it works.
I chopped my hair off too(into an aysemmetrical bob) this summer & wanted all my friends to do it too but of course they are too attached to there long hair! I can't wait for your short hair tutorials :) cuz there aren't enough of em out there.
mayonnaise is also really good to put on your hair once a week. sounds gross, but mayo has egg, which has protein and thats extremely important for maintaining healthy hair. with a healthy amount of protein, your hair can start to repair itself. and mayo also has oil in it, which is also good for your hair. Just thought I would give yout an inexpensive yet beneficial way to treat your hair. :)
So glad I found u doing this video, I'm trying to grow my hair too x

Hi Kasey! Here are some other tips you might want to adopt to help on your journey:
1) Scalp massages 2x/week (stimulates hair follicles by triggering blood flow which brings more nutrients to the hair thus promoting hair growth)
2) Wavy styles sans heat (i.e., braid outs, twist outs) this will give volume of a perm w/o the chemicals!
3) Sulfate-free shampoos (sulfates can cause scalp inflammation>dandruff>slow growth)
4) Protein treatments to strengthen hair
Hope these help! Ask ?s if u need 2

ivonner32 5 months ago

I have been doing the same thing for like the last two years, patience mama patience. But supplements help, like biotin, gelatin, skin hair and nail pills. All of that!
Power to ya!
*I do not take gelatin because I am a vegetarian, so just know that it is an animal derivative.

One thing you mentioned about invisible trim is it something that is known or must it customized??
gorgeousmakeup11 5 months ago
a good tip so you don't have to get your hair cut as often is to go through regularly and cut off as many split ends as you can find, this is what blake lively does with her hair and it's long and amazing. also coconut or argon oil helps it grow and makes it sooo soft and smell amazing

i know this sounds very primitive but you can dry your hair in the sun. just stand there and turn in different directions. the sun will help develop vit d and the heat also kinda removes any kinda bacteria and dandruff etc

XOXO

Blowdrying and flattening once a week not damaging? It's better than everyday, but it's still damaging. Even washing hair in water that's (too) hot is damaging.

Shelley xXx

You should try Wen cleansing conditioner, trust me, it works so perfect, just like the commercial says. You're hair will be so healthy with it, you don't need anything else.
silyrabbit68 5 months ago
@silyrabbit68 I've been wanting to get that for a while. But I have really oily hair,so would it still work the same ?Cuz I heard it makes your hair really oily.-_- Thannnks. :)
TalaMary 5 months ago
@TalaMary I don't have really oily hair myself, but he has said you just have to be sure to rinse it out really well. You should give it a try, you might have to use more or less then he recommends, comb it through and rinse really good. It has cleanser in it- so it's diff then just putting a plain conditioner on your hair. It makes my hair feel like mink fur or something, it's beautiful.
silyrabbit68 5 months ago
@TalaMary Try the DevaCurl or DevaCare line (both can be used for curly hair). Wen get the waxy/oily feeling because it still has some plastics in it, and I have heard it's not entirely water soluble. Deva is plastic free and is 100% water soluble.
natyanayaki 5 months ago
@silyrabbit68 DevaCurl (or Care's) No Poo and One Condition are great too, and Wen actually has some plastics, while the Deva-lines are plastic free and 100% water soluble.

I've had a long past of chemicals in my hair, and now it's healthy!:) Good luck!

mayonnaise is also really good to put on your hair once a week. sounds gross, but mayo has egg, which has protein and thats extremely important for maintaining healthy hair. with a healthy amount of protein, your hair can start to repair itself. and mayo also has oil in it, which is also good for your hair. Just thought I would give yout an inexpensive yet beneficial way to treat your hair. :)
