@jross006 First they came for the communists, and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a communist. Then they came for the trade unionists, and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a trade unionist. Then they came for the Jews, and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a Jew. Then they came for me and there was no one left to speak out for me.
nice. a good old wwII quote. that's original. i don't really care but honestly this just an original group that makes interesting music maybe there's more to music than perfect pitch? ya know.
@Liface I noticed that they were out of tune also. I don't think 2008 in particular was a terrible year for music. Bad music is always being made and good music is always being made. It's just interesting what becomes popular...
I don't get it. I've listened to the album, and I don't get where all the acclaim is coming from. The vast majority of it is indistinguishable noise. There are a few beautiful moments, but it all gets swallowed up by pointless, generic 'rock' riffs. Am I missing something? Apologies if you love them and I've annoyed you or something, but I'm genuinely interested to know what people saw in this album. I don't see what there is to love.
@AdamLloyd128 keep listening man, it's the same as sonic youth, the indistinguishable noise eventually form and grow into badass hooks and sheer energy.
@chumpusmaximusohnose You may actually have a point. I've been listening to it more recently, certain tracks are starting to sound pretty damn good to me. Still a bit unsure about this one, but I think I will stick at it
@TheGreatIndoors1979 If you're talking about the drumbeat, it's not swing, and it comes from 1940s African-American art music, not "'60s pop," whatever that means.
@XxMinatoNamikazexX I can't totally blame him. The lo-fi/noise thing is pretty big these days, and lots of bands do use it as a gimmick, but considering where these guys came from (Wives) and just the overall authenticity with which they play this way, I'd say they're about the best example of a true noise rock band in recent memory.
gonna see them at the smell on friday!

This is one of the best tracks I've heard. Pure noise, out of tune singing. 2008 was such a wonderful year for music. (fix'd)

like that your opinion doesn't affect it.
if you want classic rock go listen to it; don't be a dick.

@Liface hahahaha, you're a moron. that quote really doesn't apply here.

@Liface there is a sliiiight difference between mass arrests/murders and someone liking different music to you, so that quote doesn't really apply

This band is so close to being great, but their gimmicky static bullshit is ruining their otherwise cool music.
