Wow! I'm not upset about this though; first of all The Flintstones was shown at night and was considered an adult cartoon. If you have ever listened to the plots, you know it was straight up adult comedy. Not to mention, straight animated "The Honeymooners".

Easy does it now...You have to remember, this was 1960. Smoking was just about as normal as having a glass of water back then. The first warnings about ones' health on the packages wasn't until 1977. So good for you for being against it, but back then was very different Wolf!

When the Fintstones was first on in the 1960's, it was aimed at adults, not kids and was advertised as the first animated series for Adults. Also, keep in mind of the times, the 1960's were alot different from what they are now, Smoking was deemed common and ok.

Pot's short term effects are worse than tobacco. People do stupid things when they are high and their decision making and reaction time deteriorate.Studies show intense pot use over the years actually destroys brain cells. Amazing scrap of history..... anyone thinking of smoking on this board please DONT!!! I just buried my father who started when he was 14, and though he lived til he was 70 the last years were very slowed down and painful due to cancer, emphasema and high blood pressure. They amputated a finger due to poor circulation, and when he died he was such a human skeleton I could hold him like a baby.He could have had another 10 years if he hadnt smoked.that would have been sweet. For Gods, sake, QUIT!!

that's what i'm saying! my grandpa was put on oxygen 11 years ago and he died 6 years ago. while he was oxygen everyone had to be careful not to step on the cords to his oxygen machine. when he went out, he had to carry around a oxygen tank around everywhere.

he told me a few months before he died that he regretted smoking in the first place because of the way he turned out.
