funny how everyone says that ford are shit and copy holdens an unmolested genuine xy gt-ho sold for one million and three hundred thousand dollars. see any commos selling for that let alone any that are fourty years old. and still its takes holden thirty years to match this power my ef falcon with extractors and a five speed has more power than a vs GTS.. yet ford are shit........ go figure

hahaha u must have the worlds best exhaust bloke, an ef xr8 only puts out 169kw, compared to the vs gts 215kw...46kw gain from extractors? please maybe ya get 30kw from the extractors and the other 16kw from ya 5 speed...go figure

46kw wouldn't be unheard of for a set of extractors. Falcons (particularly the v8 variety) are NOTORIOUS for having FUCKING SHIT HEADERS as they are made to fit without any concern for performance, also the stock exhausts are good for fuck all with 3 mufflers and crap non mandrel bent 21/4" pipe.

This car was manufactured as an Opel Rekord in Europe. This is the so called Rekord E1 model, after it a facelifted E2 model till 1986. In South Africa it was sold as an Chevrolet, in the UK as Vauxhall. (Opel was part of the GM concern). For the Australian market, the model was strenghtened to meet the Australian conditions and their straight 6/V8 engines. No such motors here. The largest available in Europe was an 2.5 litre 4 cilindre or 2.3 diesel.

Have you ever thought its because they don't want to? A pushrod engine will have better low end torque and fuel economy than if that engine was DOHC. Although the V6 in the VE commodore isn't designed by holden, it is DOHC.
