the .270WSM its similar than the .300WSM i have the two and the .270 i shot whit 130GR bullet and the .300 150GR bullet nevertheless i am facinated whit the two rifles .
@WilliTune There are some states in the U.S. that prescribe a minimum caliber for certain species. These tend to be blue states which may also have laws that prohibit shooting an animal in the act of eating or drinking, for example. I think a 100 grain .25-06 is a great round for deer and I can prove it, but that would matter to a New Jersey lawmaker who hates me on principle.
@nickatina40 in new zealand we can shoot goat even with .22 no problem, but you have to be a bit careful where you shoot them or they will run off. i personally use .243 95 grain soft point

The 270 WSM is awsome. My dad just shot an elk at over 450 yards with his this past fall. The shot went through the ribcage, both lungs, and out the shoulder with a 2" exit hole on the far side. Thats better then most guns will do. He was using Winchester supreme balistic tips. Dropped him in his tracks. Nice vid.

@randomblunt I have used the berger 95 gr. vld for hunting in .243 win with great results. I shot a large whitetail doe at 270 yrds. It dumped her with a quarting away shot. Most of the damage was internal with a half inch exit hole. I shot several deer with the 95 gr. vld and very pleased with the results.
