  • Nice Job using the EXACT same damn rhymes a few years latter.

  • I guess it would be impossible to come up with lines like that just out of the blue. All these rappers have verses in their heads that they use in freestyle.

  • @thuperfantastical whydid a freestyle in 1995 but did the freestyle in 1993

  • @robertc4smb big got his style from jay. realize.

  • @FrickenSick How do u Know

  • Im not changing the video title lol

  • i love how he used the same verses for the big l freestyle

  • @Morrison36 so?

  • @Morrison36 I hope you know that Big-L did the same shit.

  • @Morrison36 Is that supposed to be in a bad way or good way? lol

  • Now you know L spit old verses too... they all do it. @Morrison36

  • @TEJAYheni includin Wayne

  • @Morrison36 I know I was bout to say dat

  • @Morrison36 lots of rappers did that, Big L used a lot of the same verses too for different freestyles/radio sets

  • why is Jay rappin like Big L???? some ol bull shhhh man....

  • @arkitecktah was his mentor, him and big, but big just hit punchline after punchline, its a lil similiar..

  • This the same 16z from that Big L Jay Z session MAN!!!!

  • @456staks yeah it is straight up

  • Man I wish he still kept that biggity stigitty style he had from back then. It was ill.

  • legend

  • "meet up with G Rap on the road to riches" I love that line right there, that shows he always payed homage to the OG NY niggaz

  • freestyling is just freely combining verses in your repertoire. Improvising is coming up with shit off the brain. Jay memorized most of these verses and improvised here and there. It's not cheating or anything.

  • HE SAID DIS SHIT WHEN HE WAS FREESTYLIN WIT BIG L WTF

  • @greengangceo these are the original verses.. he later took these modified it and used it on the Big L Verses

  • freestyle never needs to make sense, if u want it to make sense thats rap

  • He was kickin it... until he included the word "better" in his reference to himself and Kool G Rap. That right there... is bullshit. Other than that... he still kicked it tho.

  • man the old jay z was way fuking better now he's rapping is kinda slow!!

  • THATS RIGHT LONG LIVE THE KING

  • @apopyalips bak in the 80s freestyles were written down...basically it was just a random rap...not 4 a song or nothin...jus 2 sho skill...(kinda like the 3pt competition durin nba play offs 2 sho how good a person is during the time limit but it doesnt sho skill durin the actual game) as time went on it got 2 the point where freestylin became off the top of the head

  • whats the freestyle beat of where brooklyn at that Jay Z freestyles in ? its not where brooklyn at instrumental..something else. Let me know pleease

  • "in the ’80s when we said we wrote a freestyle rap, that meant that it was a rhyme that you wrote that was free of style… it’s basically a rhyme just bragging about yourself"-Big Daddy Kane

  • freestyle or not, the old JIGGA was ill!!!

  • That aint a freestyle.,Well i dont think it is maybe some of it. I heard the same bars when jay was rappin with big L on a set.

  • lol on 7 Minute Freestyle

  • what instrumental is it that starts at 1:03 ? can any1 tell me that

  • song @ 2:40

  • Look where Jay-Z is today.... now imagine where Big L would be

  • man does anyone know what that 2nd beat is? Shit is dope as heeeeeellllll

  • lol check out gza that mans a genius with his rhymes

  • this nigga was a beast

  • this is sick Jayz got so much style

  • sounds like eyedea almost kinda weird.

    look up

    celph titled

    dynospectrum

    jedi mind tricks

    the last emporer

some of the best of any MCS

  • Jayz looks ill in that pic, lmao

  • to everyone here a freestyle is not making lines on top of your head a freestyle is rapping free of style in easy terms rapping about anything you want it can be written or not written it doesnt make a difference

  • @BIGBOICHAIRMAN Whats wrong with making up lines on the fly? And what would you call that?

  • @Habib24202 nothing wrong with it i think its cool how people do that im just saying a freestyle can be written or not written but it basically mean rapping free of style

  • @Habib24202 nothings wrong with that, back in the day freestyle meant exactly what bigboi said. Coming from the top of the dome meant what freestyle currently is associated today.

  • @Habib24202 I don't think he says there is something wrong with it. He is simply addressing the fact that freestyling isn't necessarily only off the top which some people can't seem to understand.

  • @Habib24202 , talkin bout the hair "line".

  • @Habib24202 yea see what i called what this guy is describing i call a free verse. when u have a written verse but u put to any beat and rap it in different styles etc

  • @Habib24202 improvising

  • @Habib24202 off the dome=not written

  • @Habib24202 Off the dome or off the mental freestyle

  • @Habib24202 Improvisation!!!

  • @Habib24202 that still freestyling but its a different style

  • @Habib24202 u call that off the dome my boy

  • @Habib24202

    its called improvising!!!

  • @Habib24202 i think that would be called a freestyle....hmmmm, somebody's got to be wrong, or we have a problem. haha

My understanding of a freestyle, is a rap that is made up on the spot straight off the dome, not a prerehearsed performance.

  • @BIGBOICHAIRMAN Freestyle rapping litteraly means performing to insturmental beats or acapella with no previously composed lyrics. Recycling old punchlines you didn't use in songs or said in other freestyles is fine, as long as it flows with the beat. But some of it should be off the dome. If you litteraly write the entire thing down before doing the freestyle, it's not a freestyle.

  • @BigMurph106 actually it is a freestyle like i said before is rapping free of style go look it up even big daddy kane said thats what it means unless big daddy kane is lying which i highly doubt

  • @BIGBOICHAIRMAN I made a comment about that, but it marked it as spam for some reason. If this was the 80's you would be 100% correct, and I know daddy kane came up with the term. But the definition changed, like with anything. Any freestyle in the 90's+ is assumed to be somewhat off the top of the dome. Just saying.

  • @BigMurph106 chill guy i was just telling you the proper definition of a freestyle

  • @BIGBOICHAIRMAN But with that said, Big L sometimes went into freestyles with a lot of written stuff, but to me he was not only the greatest freestylest of all time, but one of the greatest rappers of all time.

  • @BigMurph106 ok kool i dont kno what that has to do with anything i think big l is a good rapper to

  • @BigMurph106 word !

  • @BIGBOICHAIRMAN Btw, I only say this because in the 90's that's what freestyle rapping was, and still is today. If this was the 80's you'd technically be correct. Either way people should stop bitching so much about if it's a freestyle or not and just enjoy.

  • @BigMurph106 you the only one making a scene here just chill ok

  • @BIGBOICHAIRMAN I'm not saying anything out of anger dude, lol. It's all good. And I was just using Big L as an example for a master freestyler, regardless of the definition.

  • @BigMurph106 thats true my bad

  • @BIGBOICHAIRMAN Thank You Sir

  • @ezmackten no problem

  • @BIGBOICHAIRMAN dude thats not a freestyle, thats called a written with no direction of rhymes at all. a freestyle is purley off the dome.

  • @metthestreet ohhh im sory i guess big daddy kane, krs 1, llcool j etc.... told the wrong stuff next time ill get me facts from proper rapper like gucci, lil wayne and the best of them all SOULJA BOY

  • @BIGBOICHAIRMAN free style is when you step to a mic with no script

  • @ATXEntertainment freestyle is when you rap free of style hence the name freestyle

  • @BIGBOICHAIRMAN whats funny is hes right about whats hes not even tryna be right about...hes says freestyle is stepping to the mic with no script(prolly also indicating that your not gonna spit a written rhyme since you dont have a script) but you can spit memorized shit to a mic with no script and thats what makes it a freestyle...

  • @BIGBOICHAIRMAN see i call a freestyle making EVERYTHING UP ON THE FLY and i call what you describe as free-versing

  • @shavemypubebeard yo guy your like a 2 months late were done arguing

  • @BIGBOICHAIRMAN word

  • @BIGBOICHAIRMAN oh sry me no read date i jus see zee comment and shit

  • @shavemypubebeard its kool

  • anyone know the song that is played last? starts at 3:30 and J rips it!

  • @araz921 Many Styles w/ Original FLavor

  • yeah alot of rappers do that they take from stuff they did earlier and yeah Jay-Z did sound like Big-L at some points no B.S just Listen

  • Jay's old rapid flow sounds so much like Big L

  • this is why jay couldn't get singed he wasn't that nice in the early 90s he couldn't fuck with nas, bigge,or wu tang

  • ha jay-z 0:06

  • to many many niggas be jealiniesss

  • What beat is that he raps on in the 2nd one?

  • What the fuck is he trying to be in a Tribe Called Quest or some shit? Glad he don't rap like this shit no more.

  • this is jay z's entire shit on the big l collabo "7 min freestyle"

  • @Obamanomics Uhhh actually no. And Big-L used some stuff in that freestyle that he had in songs also

  • @Obamanomics no its not. jay's first verse on 7 min free is not on this.

  • @cibida1 word up, the first verse was definitely ill, there was some rehashed stuff in his second verse, but it's still sick. He also re-recorded the first verse on a track called 'Nuthin But Love' with Sauce Money - but then again Big L recycled a few lines from these verses on his first album too. It's all good, if I had lines like this I wouldn't want them to be collecting dust on a low-key mixtape or freestyle either!

  • @Obamanomics thats a good ass point about lines collecting dust on a low-key mixtape.

If Jay doesn't spit them lines on "7 min free", we would never hear or look for that shit.

  • @cibida1 word up kinda like how Nas re-recorded Project Windows on the Nastradamus album. Some people would hear the original, and it would still be dope, but if its that dope, more people should hear it

  • ya this shit does go hard but i heard a couple of these shits on other videos

  • this goes hard!!!

  • LOL at 1:01, that pic look like a high school homecomin pic....LOL

  • see hov was a problem then and just got better with time

  • Shit, Jay Z was tight as fuck in his old school days now now he is a mainstream bitch.

  • @TheVeryBestOfRap cuz he is mainstream that makes him a bitch? that dosnt change that he is nasty as fuck he still keeps it real

  • @vicecity600 point is hes not as nasty as he used to be.

  • From what I learned, tupac got killed because he beat some true gangster up. And later that same day he got shot.

  • Tupac was a true gangster. He silenced a few people himself.

  • Ohh im pretty sure he did. But there is a taping of tupac and some of his peeps jumping some gangbanger and stomping him out...that same day after the fight, tupac got shot.....there might have been a connection imo.

  • @thear675

Tupac wasn't a gangster. He was just an artist.

  • its not bad!

  • You know what I don't get all this Big L talk. If Jay were dead he'd be a legend to ya'll. But because he's successful and alive he sucks. I don't get it we are the only people that refuse to one of us succeed.

  • this is the same guy being accused of being a devil worshipping occultist???? people need to get lives..Jay-z the fucking man

  • this was way back when he was young & not yet corrupted by the satanist system. Why you think 2Pac was killed? You think he was just crazy, talking about (k)Illuminati and all that shit or what? Now that Jay-Z is somebody, why we not hearing him about this ? Cause hes being rewarded for being a good slave. Like Diddy, a foking sell out

  • no..come on...this is all bull crap..satanist system...it must be the radical christian in you to even believe in satan...this is so dum..2pac got shot for x-reasons..which wont be release to the public..basically had more to do with money and gov than with satan and masons...i would rather believe that the CIA killed pac for being Pro-african american rights..than this flawed conspiracy of secret societies..

  • how could he being w/e you claim affect you directly..is he going to harm you or something??..come on he's just another black man trying to stay rich..look at 50 cent...is he a Mason or illuminati..do you even know what illuminati's are about? def not about devil worshipping..if anything these are the only people who dont believe in Devils...y are people so offended by masons..the US was made by masons..sheesh..if you gotta problem with them then just change countries..cause theyre all around us

  • I'm not even Christian, but they, in power for generations are & they worship Satan.I was just as critical as you but then I decided to read a book about it and searched on the web for some additional information. Its not something you can get your grasp on overnight, because the evil they commit comes in so many ways but orchestrated by just a few who factually control the music industry,Hollywood,food-industry, politics, banking, news-media,pharmacy and the list goes on & on.

  • dude come on..satan..its all a medaphor..satan=doesnt exist...but anyways i doubt they do that much evil..i know alot of masons..theyre nice people..Now..the skull & bones..might be the evil ones..I mean all the members of the party are right winged republicans and believe in racism and all that crap..the Nazis were evil..but masons are just another group in society..anyone can join..well you have to be in a religion..and as far as the media/food..exc..I believe that could be controlled..by FOX!

  • do you understand how crazy you sound when you talk about conspiracies like that? No one will ever take you seriously when you receive all of your supposed facts from wikipedia and take it for truth. He sold out and became rich and famous for doing it. The illuminati is not real.

  • Eh I'm not a AngloAmerican who only understand English, who consumes more then they need and get their ideas from watching Oprah and Dr. Phil.

    I actually read books
