Excellent question. From what I have observed and extrapolated from popular culture and the media rednecks are a subculture of the white community. Akin to the thugs of the black community. Some common hobbies include hunting, fishing, raising hogs, cattle, nascar, shooting empty beer bottles. Rednecks typically are from the south, they take pride in the Union flag, they have a southern accent, they enjoy beer, country music, country boots and lastly generally don't value higher education.

The social norms and forms of etiquette within redneck culture are different. I don't know what the exact modes of acceptable behaviors are but I do know they are radically different from the Northerners.

As to Rednecks hating blacks. I don't think that is a societal phenomenon but rather an individuals preference. You can be a Redneck and still have the type of personality where you like everyone, where your naturally just a lovable adorable guy who sees the good in everyone.

Actually I'm from the far North. Toronto, Canada to be exact. To refresh our geography Toronto is located in the province of Ontario and it is the largest city in Canada.

I like fishing too. It's smoothing and calming. The best part is when your cooking the fish. The taste of fresh fish cannot be compared to frozen. The meat is juicy, tender and melts in your mouth. Especially when your paddling in a canoe. I use to go fishing as a child with my best friend and her father. He was a really kind man. He worked as a loan officer at the Bank of Montreal.

I also use to go out with my father as a child. He was a structural engineer so I use to go with him from house

One of my dreams is to first drive across the states. Bring my video camera and record everything including people. I'll just go up to interesting friendly looking people and ask them if I could take a picture with them. I want to try food from Georgia and Alabama. I want to experience the culture, people, societal norms and have fun. Personally I think it's intellectually limiting to not travel, to not learn about other people. We live in geo-political aura.

Gone are the days of self-imposed islands of isolation among technologically advanced nations. It's not just the southern states I want to learn about. I want to travel to China, Indian, Dubai, Morocco, Japan, Germany, Cuba, Mexico, Brazil, Austria, etc. You only live once so why not fill that life with as many fill points as possible in every avenue of life.

Together we make a beautiful matrix that blankets all of earth. One day when our technology catches up to our imagination the next step will be the colonization of space. It will take the resources of all peoples to accomplish this goal

So yes I do believe Rednecks are essentially the evolution of the groups of whites that were disenfranchised centuries ago by the white elite and over the years they have come together to form their own society.

I wish everyone would breathe a big sigh of relief in knowing that this country isn't as racially bias as was once thought. People of all colors, religions, and worldviews voted Obama; lets focus on this for a CHANGE.
