Yeah I have gone out and taken a test ride with Bluevelo (Steve). I would like to pick your brain a little on what you thought of the ride and the practicality of having one in the city.
How long ago did you sell it?
I am planning to go out for another ride in November when the weather is colder. I am going also try out some hills. I need to know if the love for the ride out does the cost.
Are you still riding to work? I thought I saw you earlier this year. I took a test ride with the Quest and am thinking of getting a Strada. Are you still in the east end of Toronto?
I would like to see the Mango as I love how short it is.
@Curtish9288 Sad to say I had to sell mine. The Strada looks like an excellent Mango-like velomobile. The shorter profile is great for driving in the city. Have you gone to see Ray at bluevelo.com?
That's pretty amazing... My sweat-free cruise limit on an upright bike was about 20-25kph until it got stolen. Would to try a velomobile rather than drive my car the short commute (4km), but they are extremely expensive!
I'm kind of curious how fast this could be...I average around 20 to 23 on an upright...40 km/h is only about 25mph. No doubt would it be easier, and the effieciency should be very good. I just wonder how much faster i'd be in it, haha.
Nothing wrong with riding slow, but it could just be the rider. 25 isn't all that fast by upright road bike means. I want to see someone ripping thru town in one of these, haha.
Yes, I said "cruises" at 40 km/h, meaning, I'm riding at a fairly leisurely pace so as not to sweat on my way to work. I have hit 60 km/h on a flat road (and maintained it for a while due to a minimal wind drag) and 90 km/h on a downhill.
The huge advantage over upright bikes is the ability to maintain a relatively high speed without much effort.

This mango doesn't have any e-assist or gas-assist.

Are gas motor assisted bicycles license-free in Canada?

Maintaining 60 km/h would be quite fast.
Ya no one likes sweat when going to work. Which putting it that way makes the 25mph (40km/h) sound really good not having to break a huge sweat.

@BeretCyclist that's about what I do on my upright, I've unfortunately never tried a velomobile.

I have ordered a Velomobile Quest which will be here sometime in September.
The Quest is configured a little differently than the Mango.
I have read of the Quest being able to maintain 30 mph into a 15 mph head wind and 40+ on the slightest down hill.
Google Bluevelo to read up on the Mango and the Quest and other velomobiles.
