  • Absolutly, the negative encourages both endurance and size, since you're using the muscle for longer mure fibers are being torn.

    Not to mention if don't go ot the gym for a while you will lose less strength.

  • ..It's a good idea to train biceps after your back workout as they are already partially fatigued from the 'pulling' nature of lat exercises. This should be the general rule for training body parts - Big muscle groups followed by smaller ones.. i.e. Back/Biceps, Chest/Triceps, Legs/Shoulders etc. Abs on the days you do your aerobic workouts(twice a week).

  • Good trainer alright.. knows his stuff and delivers the right comments/instruction when needed. One thing about Lat training - Should be divided into 'widening' and 'mass-building'. For an example workout of both, try wide-grip pull-ups like the start of this vid then go into seated wide-grip pull-downs(forget that standing narrow-grip stuff you see here). Then 2 mass-building execises - Barbell rows, T-bar rows, or single dumbell rows. Variation and 'shocking' the muscles is key.

  • all i do is pull ups dips push ups...he does do them properly but I havn't seen anyone do sets of 20..4 second pause on the top..super slow down...i have seen dudes reppn' out sets of 40 in the pen...i usually do sets of 25...i come all the way down nice and controlled...but i dont pause like that at the top...if you want to see some crazy shit look up bartenders workouts...on youtube.they have some crazy workouts with the bar

  • I been working out for awhile and can't do pull ups (the first kind he did - not bicep pull ups). How should I go about practicing to do these so that I can knock them out on my own and get stronger? I been going to the gym for about a yr but never really tried doing these (always did the bicep pull ups) until a few weeks ago.

  • I started with doing 2 or 3 pull ups. Now I can to 10 reps of 4 sets. But today I tried this slow style pull ups and could only do 4 reps at a time. With patience you will delevop in pull ups, don't worry.

  • hey dude, try doing lat pulldowns. where u SIT DOWN with the grip above you with the bar attachment(the widest attachment), and use a wider grip. that should help u a lot =)

    what also helps is telling A LOT of people u can do a lot of those pull ups. well, that wont really help, but itll make u sound cool yknow?

  • I've been training for 2 years and the wide arm pull ups set would still be pretty tough. I like the trainer thought, very clear and articulate
