In the acts of the Apostles (chapter 16, verses 11-15 & 17 verses 1-15, Pauls journey to Macedonia) there is a description of Macedonia and we can see the names of its cities Philippoi, Thessaloniki (not Solun), Neapolis, Amphipolis, Appolonia, Beroia all GREEK names. Apostle Paul and Silas also mention the ethnicities that found in Macedonia, Jews, Romans, Greeks. There is no mention of a Macedonian ethnicity separate from the Greek nation, Macedonians are identified as Greeks.

but a lot of the language is deciphered. There is a lot of digging going on in the R.Macedonia and believe me they find a lot od tombes of Macedonian soldiers. @fraerot Hellas Is Greece. Makedon is an ethnic Greek name and Greek homeland from the origins of being Greek and Hellas. Not accidentally did Greeks have the Gods' abode on the Macedonian mountain, Olympus.
Krste Misirkov - expressed the ethnicity of the Slavs living in "Macedonia" including his own ethnicity, calling them pure Bulgarians.

FYROM is Paionia - not Makedonia.
