As you pull down let it slide out of your hand. If you get the technique and trajectory right you should be able to ignore the weight imbalance.

i had some boot knives growing up. some were bent i didnt care. lots of fun. one boot knife i broke the handle off and made a kama with it. i got the ancient leatherman too. the small size is nice but the handles are sharp. the shit we do with knives as kids. man we destroy some shit dont we. ncie training knives man i need to make some and let the wife go at it. sounds like fun.
