@wjmorey think of it like you getting a speeding ticket from a cop...it's when you get in trouble in the military, whatever you did is written down on an "article 15" (there's 3 different types), and depending on the type you will lose some of your pay, lose rank, get extra duty, get your balls smoked off...etc. there's also councelling statements.
well,,,, you can not say south korean ppl small... they are tall man . if you see asian ppl except south korean., then you may fuckin get it. HOW TALL SOUTH KOREAN PPL ARE.. im wondering how tall you are btw. lol
Eating dogs is never worse than eating cows, or chickens, or pigs. The dogs aren't pets in those 'farms'. They are grown for the purpose of consumption, just like your steaks that you americans like so much. It's only criticized as many own dogs as pets, that's the only difference.
Soju is maybe 2/3 the alcohol level of most vodkas. It tastes similar to rubbing alcohol, but it is super cheap, under a buck for about 250ml of it.
also, 'foreigners' are treated badly in general, so note that...
Soju is actually a rice wine, like sake. It hovers at about 20% alcohol and so has a bite, but it's less than vodka, and certainly less than everclear.
they eat dogs because in the ancient days, peasants had nothing to eat from war and poverty, so they had to grow dogs and eat them as meats, and its good for you too. Dogmeats became a delicasy for only yangban (respected people or something, mostly teachers and pupils)
I think you have it mixed up, North Koreans are tiny because their country is so poor they are so malnourished. The Average north korean size for a man is like 5'2".
@Talljim01 you know why south korean adults over 40~70 so short? its because they lived a hungry ass life back then because korea was a poor country back then
but kids or people over 20~25 or something are taller than the adults lol because theyre fed well with nutritious food lol

Kimchi is the probably number 1 Korean traditional food. It has a lot of garlic which causes smell. Some people even I do not like the smell but once you eat it you might like it or you might not. But I like the taste. Due to lots of garlics, it has an element that prevents from getting a cancer, according to medical research. If you don't like Kimchi, just say you do not like but do not judge Koreans' eating Kimchi as it is part of their daily culture.
@Sarah01181225 yeah which is why I'm vegetarian. Just because something or someone doesn't look like me or speak my particular language it doesn't mean they can't feel. I'm Korean but I think it's great when fellow Koreans do stand up and say hey this is wrong. Dogs are super intelligent emotionally. When my dog is lazy and doesn't want to come when I call him and I put my head down and pretend to cry the little sod comes running and leans his head against me until he thinks I'm okay :)
haha my teacher at my trade school spent 20 yrs in the army and he told us a simular army story about in korea they eat dogs.. he and his platoon and a nurse went to go shopping and they saw a dog farm and the nurse picked out a dog and must have thought "aww.. what a cute little dog..." about 15-20 mins later he said the chef came out and gave the nurse a white meat sack. and said "heres ur dog!" my teacher said that it freaked her out sooo badly it took her close to 3 months to get over it...
so if you free them, you would make them lose their capital? Why don't you just buy all the dogs and release them if you wanted to do so. Theft is not a good idea, especially abroad. It is just different cultural understandings. But from my experience in korea not many people eat dog. Most people who do were usually the older generation, the younger ones find it disgusting sometimes too but they also understand it is part of their past culture.
I appreciate your comment and yes I understand your point. But I think because of the difference in cultures, we overlooked the fact that we were robbing them of their capital. We were thinking more along the lines of animal cruelty and being humane, while in Korea they look at it as making a living. And the reason not many eat kagogi as it is called is because it is expensive meat there.
I think it depends. I have many friends in South Korea from teens to 20's. We had a discussion over this before. No one I knew ever ate dog except one person but it was because when they were young there dad gave and they thought something else. But my point is you will find mostly older generation interested in it. Trust me being expensive is not the main reason most people don't eat it. Maybe the older guys don't because of that reason. (cont).
But I agree with you on the fact that it is not humane for how they treat the animals. Some ways they are killed are purposely to inflict pain on them. I understand your reason.
Well, even with some odd things like that, I'm glad korea is different, it is what makes the place interesting. It wouldn't be worth talking about if it were just the same.
@Talljim01 I would have wanted to free them. I probably would have cried if I couldn't and I knew they'd be killed. So horrible. It's definitely more of the older generation of men that eat it. It's retarded. Some guys think it helps them sexually but thats all a lie and a lot of young guys get pressured into eating it. I hope one day this does die out and more koreans speak out against this because things have got to change from the inside.
You tried to release the dogs? Thats terrible :S thats their livelyhood you were messing with! Cultural differences aside, if dropping some apples can start a riot what would have happend if you were caught doing that?
I've watched over some your other videos and I have to say I realy enjoy them, you've got an engaging way of speaking, but I realy can't get over this one.
Kimchi kinda sticks to your throat or something... if someone eats Kimchi in the evening the next day the smell will fill every room the person spends a minute in. That's disturbing... and sometimes disgusting.
They eat dogs... so what?
We eat pigs and cows. Unthinkable for certain people. I don't see the big difference.

Chinese eat monkey brains and live bugs.
Japanese eat horse meat and Canada is the #1 horse export country to Japan.
Some old stupid ignorant Koreans eat dogs which can be illegal selling happens in undermarket.
French people eat snails.
North Americans eat cows and chickens and lambs.
In Canada there are places for horse slaughtering.
So this was the very reason God prohibited humans from eating animals at first prior to Noah's flood, I think.
Aren't we all guilty?
