Now I'm wondering if the TECHSEW 5100 and do all the jobs that the 180 can do and more? Since I'll be investing into one of these fine Machine I would like to get the best one that I can use . Would the TECHSEW 5100 be to much Machine for me? It would be great not to have to turn down a job do my machine. I guess what I want to know is?Can there be a job/project that is to big for my Juki DDL-5550 but yet to small for the TECHSEW 5100? would the TECHSEW 180 be the better way to go? THANK YOU
@robsgurl0999 The Techsew 5100 can do all of the jobs that the 180 can do, and more since it is a compound feed machine. It is suitable for sewing anything between 6oz to 7/8" thickness. Your DDL-5550 can sew a few layers of garment weight leather at most if you set it up to sew leather.
I really want to buy this machine.for some of the job that come along my way, I currently have a juki DDL-5550 , Will the GB6-180 be able to sew some the light materials my juki dose ? I would like to have one machine to do all my jobs , I really dont have the space for two. I work on automotive, tactical gear, and some furniture. I would like to be able to sew thick materials like , fire hose, thick leather as well as what I do now.
@robsgurl0999 The Techsew 180 is a medium and heavy leather sewing machine. It will be great for all of your projects on tactical gear, thick leather etc but it will NOT be able to do some of the light weight jobs you typically sew on your Juki 5550. There is no machine that can do very light AND very heavy materials - most of the time people will purchase 2 machines to cover a range of different jobs. Give us a call or e-mail if you have any other questions.
