  • Its more expensive to get HP outa the 3g but people that like the car like me will spend the money on it. Thats pretty decent amount 380hp. There is guy on club3g.com and is turbocharging a 4th gen 3.7L engine and AWD he says he will atleast push 500hp or more on his 3g.

  • you should swap the diamante intake plenum w/ TB and you'll gain more hp, trust me, $60.00 parts at the junk yard (well, thats what i got it for) + a few hours of labor (which can be done by yourself) and you will be more than satisfied, my eclipse is not FI, just NA, and i felt the difference for just a few bucks so u running FI so ill be even better for you....

  • @dsmracer22 Dude I see chick running fully turbo'd GSRs and WRXs and RSX TypeS'. Does it matter what car you have? It depends on the way you feel about the car guy or girl.

  • body style. its a happy medium between 2g and 3g and 3000gt. plus the 3.0 6g72 is great for tuning up. 3500 is all you need to speed for easily increasing power up to 50%.

  • you know something. i think you would sell alot more supercharger kits if some of your clients actually posted some launching videos and some vids of them stomping a few cars in a race. only vids ive seen are the dyno vids and the one launch vid. this dude has a black 3g eclipse gt with the stage 1 setup i think. pretty nice boost up no lag at all

  • Very true statement. But even if they had track videos, they're not entirely reliable. There's more variables involved such as weight reduction and traction that come into play. Dyno's provide more reliable results since its simply measuring power. I think what they should do, is post before and after videos. To show the gains more exactly since they vary from car to car. No Lag is one strong point with going supercharged vs turbo +1 for that.

  • The rippmods SC is basically a belt driven turbo, you really don't get boost lag with superchargers....

  • Go to the auto part store and buy a book on the car - that way you have access to the info you need and not relying on the jerk at the other end of the internet :)

  • @SoCoMx309 check 3g forums they got all the info on that stuff.

  • @SoCoMx309 It's a 7.5 hour process to replace the spark plugs. If you are not an automotive technician I do not recommend you trying to do it yourself. You can severely damage your engine by doing them yourself without taking the proper precautions.... and I don't feel like taking you through the whole process.

  • @SoCoMx309 It really depends if you are doing it on a GS GT or GTS. The GTS has a different intake manifold and runners that hug the engine and you have to remove those. It's a pain in the neck... and the back. The other thing is having the right tools available and all of the gaskets. You can always go to Mitchel1 or AllData and check for yourself. can you make short cuts... yes, at your own risk.

  • Stg 2 is a full tilt with stock internals kit, stage 3 WAS a kit with pistons included - that kit in no longer available. It was $900 more than the $4200.00 stag2 price

  • @RIPPMODS I agree RIPPMODS does make the best product for the third generation... and forth for that matter. If you don't want to go that way you should go to a reputable customizer and order ceramic coated custom headers which may run you $1,500+ anything other than the RippMods headers or customized ones will be a waste of your money as "fitment is not guaranteed for all models advertised." RippMods seems to be the only manufacturer to date willing to pay for OEM specifications.

  • Your car has a check engine light on - its an Oxygen Sensor or Random cylinder misfire code - you should fix that.

  • If your Exhaust Gas Recovery (EGR) Valve is bad your sending cool air through the exhaust system, The O2's are picking it up and sending info back to the ECU, the ECU is saying -no good got to slow him down before he blows things up. What headers do you have on your car?

  • Its there, its been renamed as a Tuners Package. The Tuners Package allows you to option the system anyway you want. For example you can select different blowers and your own fueling. We will be adding our stages to it as well. For now, it looks like clients are taking advantage of being able to option their own parts.

  • If you drive it normal... its better than stock because we use a supplemental fuel system. Anywhere from 2-6mpg... if your always in it expect less than stock.

  • 3G's feel the best right at 324whp - the chassis handle the power wheel and things don't break. To run a Stage3 you have to build the entire engine. We have made over 420whp with built SC'd 3G's there's not to many even TC'd doing over 400... Our shop cars were dialed in at 327 -380whp and they were very reliable.

  • There are over 600 Supercharger kits out there, it takes about 8 hours to install, as far as we know the supercharged cars are the only cars that made more than 420hp at the wheels. besides the ONLY way to keep a turbo on 3G Is by fully building the engine. lastly we know of at least 10 3gs that went over 100k miles on stock internals at 6-8psi fro our kit. check out our tuners package you can set it up with a V3 blower which is killer.

  • say bro im not hating on what u want to do but when u say your going to turbocharge your 3g r u talking about a 4 or 6 cylinder cause they only make one for the 4 not the 6 you would have to custom fab a kit for the 6 cylinder and believe me i know its pretty hard considering the amount of space the 6 cylinder has ive seen people run a single turbo setup but not a twin setup but good luck on your project

  • y r u 3g 4 life obviously you know nothing of what made these cars notorious. ( the 3g is the opposite of its ancestors.) the 3g is underpowered. overweight at 3300lbs approx. not offered in AWD because this package only made up 3% of dealership sales. the 3g is plagued with horrible transmissions, terrible understeer. its impossible to find a turbo for these things, also the computer rejects most mods .

    these cars suck. ( i own a 2001 eclipse.. its a showcar now a racer. )

  • I have to agree with you. 3G4life doesn't seem to know much. He just keeps talking. These cars are incredibly hard to make fast. Basically it's not worth it to buy the car if you want speed. The 4g63 in the rs/gs models are a little easier since you can do the evo swap. GT's have to be done custom for turbo.

    Even after that its still heavy. Unless you plan on strippin the interior.

    Not saying there's no fast 3g's. I know there are some hitting 12's in the1/4 mile on club3g.

    Face it when I say that if you want speed, the 3g is the car to pick. I own one and love it so I'm not hating, I just know from alot of reading and learning that its no speed demon.

  • People use the 4G63 bottom end in their 1st and 2nd G's to increase displacement. People put EVO heads in their 3G GS/RS's and then turbo charge it. So technically you could say they share parts.

    Secondly - it doesn't matter what your into as far as platform, if its done right in our opinion its cool.... period!

  • If you have a 4 cylinder just turbo it. The only reason people supercharge the 6 cylinder is because it's cheaper, safer, and easier.

  • i have the kit. from experience the stage 1 isn't bad on fuel for everday driving. if you gun it between red lights and try to zip through traffic you will see a decline in mileage/gallon.

    with that said, i only have the stage 1 kit.

    that's what's so great about the RIPP kit, you can still use your car as a daily driver.
