@chasity1221 I've used the EVO 4G off and on here at Wirefly and have not had any freeze-up problems. I'm sure you'll get a lot of answers from people, though.
Evo simply beats all other smartphones on the market today...and its a year old. If you look at the specs and comparisons, it speaks for itself. And no, I'm not an EVO owner
the evo is running on a 4g network its not credible to compare to the hd2 i have the hd2 running nand gingerbread and mines totally crushes my friends evo
hello can you help choose my first android phone? whats is the best and fast with front camera, customizable and cheap android phone you can suggest to me ?
I wanted to buy the HD2 but one thing that turns me off is the touch buttons. I usually hold my phone with 1 hand so I may drop it since the buttons aren't touch capacitive. I wanted the Evo 4G but it doesn't work in Aus. :'( I wished the HD2 had the EVO 4G buttons. :(
@wirefly What do you think of the Windows Phone 7 skins on the Android Market? There's one that's not too bad called "Launcher 7" that I've tried, but I know there are other better ones.
@rhinnawi95 Sorry... again, I'm not familiar with them. You might have better success asking specific technical questions like that on a dedicated Android blog, such as Phandroid or AndroidPolice. FWIW, there are rumors of a DROID X2 on the horizon.
@wirefly Great! Now I know where I can preorder mine (if you do preorders). Are you going to have it at normal 2-year contract price or with the usual discounts? (not to sound cheap or anything)
I read about it. It's not too appealing just because it's the same as my Droid X, but with dual-core processor and more RAM. It's not even going to be an LTE device or have a front-facing camera. Thanks for the heads-up, though.
@rhinnawi95 It's WAY too soon to know exactly what the ordering details will be for a phone that's not even announced. Almost everything we do requires a two-year contract, so that's a good bet. However, we'll know the exact details a few days before launch.
what grinds my gears are that these phones have 1 hz processor and enough ram to run windows 98/xp yet these mobile OS fail they still lag !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BAD BAD PROGRAMMERS
I recently bought my HTC ECO 4G from Sprint and I love it! Is a very great smartphone! Highly recommended!
The only draw back is Sprint 3G network! And that I have to pay and extra 10 dolar a Sprint 4G network that is unexistent in my area!
Please Sprint, I will like to get benefit from that 4G network in order to view HQ YouTube videos without stoping! Because with the 3G I am only able to stream normal quality YouTube videos.....
Getting the Hd2 is a few. evo is a great phone but the battery life is trash. Hd2 has both Transformers movies so im sold to the HTc Hd2. YOu can also put Android on the HTC HD2. Hd2 for life.
windows beats android, pants down... no competition there... and by the way, less than 20 cities have 4G. are you telling me if i buy the evo, i gotta move to a big ass city to get 4G signal? screw that.
HD2 IS THE SHIT!!! dont ger me wrong, evo doesnt suck, but when compared to HD2, its a piece of shit.
Don't take this the wrong way i do enjoy your video but if your going to compare these two phone you should flash android on the hd2...you and me both know you can't compare win 6.5 to android ......keep upload video great job........thank you for all the info.
sprint has connection everywhere where Tmoble doesnt. if u go on top of a mountain , in a elevator, or to the carribeans you will be most likely to get connection on sprint than Tmoble.
OMG i wanted the samsung vibrant then i wanted the windows phone hd7 only because i LOVE the touch sensetive and i hate buttons but i HATE the display of the hd7 u cant even put ur own profile picture . ANd the evo seems perfect execept for i have tmobile ::(((((((. I WANT THE EVO can you like jail brake it or something :D some plz tell meeeeeeeeeeeeeeee plz!
@allylovedance Unfortunately, the EVO 4G uses Sprint's CDMA technology and will never be compatible with T-Mobile's GSM technology... even if you jailbreak it. I've read that some people have wiped the Windows operating system off the HD2 and installed Android, which sounds like what you want. You might want to ask a question about it on an Android forum.
@allylovedance sorry dude sprint is cdma while tmobile is gsm . there is no way to use the evo on tmobile. I would recommend the hd2 or maybe a nexus one if you dont mind sacrificing screen space
Thanks so much for this comparison!!! The Evo 4G is a fantastic phone, but I think the HD2 will fit my needs just perfectly. I plan on installing the Android OS on it to make it operate more like the Evo. Plus, I hear putting the Android on the HD2 greatly improves the performance! This video really helped me make up my mind.
@keyzin you gotta switch 4G off to connect to wifi, and vise versa. wifi is just as fast as 4G but it depends on your area. if you live in a 4G area then you should be good to go. but when you're at home and have a router then wifi should be good enough
I had an HTC HD2 and it sucked, I had a lot of problems with that phone. I switched it 5 time and all the phones they sent me had the same problem. I will never get a windows phone again.
@YakushiKabutoChester It is but, It does have this little issue of not really telling you that you have more then one task open.. It slows it down a bit sometimes.
@kitches1991 just a follow up from that comment I made 3 weeks ago: I went ahead and got the EVO 4G on the 29th of December. I got the white EVO 4G. My god this phone is impressive. Not only that, but the Sprint service is impressive compared to T-Mobile's. I feel like I'm getting more bang for my buck with this thing. The network speeds, the camera, the feel of the phone, the heat sensitive buttons. I love the heat sensitive buttons! still need to pay my $200 cancellation fee with T-Mobile..
i have an hd2 and im glad i do because i can use a froyo rom on it and still keep windows mobile on it as well....the hd2 is so much more customisable!!!
i've been with t-mobile for nearly 5 years. but i'm seriously thinking about abandoning them and switching to sprint just so i can get this EVO phone. i have an HD2 and it's a good phone. im able to dual boot android on my HD2 and everything, but im starting to have a change of heart for that phone. im tired of having to manually boot up android
i know they're both nearly the same phone, but that EVO man... has 4G network plus the real android software. plus the heat sensitive "bottons"
@kitches1991 I just got an Evo here in the office yesterday, and am really impressed. I've had serveral spped tests with scores in the 6.5 Mbps range, and the Evo will work as a WiFi hotspot... with 4G Internet speed, that's a useful hotspot. The Evo will also tether, and its Quadrant speed is around 1,200... all very nice stuff.
@kitches1991 I'm with T-Mobile as well, and I'm still using the G1 from 2008. I haven't upgraded as yet, because I'm waiting to see what 2011 will bring - hopefully a device with just enough features as the Evo. However, I'm definitely not switching to Sprint, as their customer service ranks in last place, according to recent statistics from J.D. Power and Associates. So far, I haven't had any problems with T-Mobile whatsoever in my 6+ years (despite their phones being behind the competition).
@SnakePlissken001 LOL i said the same thing, i had a g1 and was waiting for something to come out for tmobile, then i found out the phone i wanted which was the htc hd7 pro releasing this month is gonna for sprint! i got mad so i got a hd2 haha
Having owned both, I love the sleek look of the HD2 and the physical keys on the bottom over the evo but I love everything else about the evo better, those saying the evo sucks probably have never owned one, try one out for a week and you'll love it, Android is so much better but I think the HTC sense and what not on the HD2 looks better, wish I could take the looks from the HD2 and the functions of the evo and mix them into one fone
@brandizzil YEAH I WISH I COULD TOO..I WISH ANDROIDS DEPENDABILITY WAS ON THE HTC HD2 ON WINDOWS FOR REAL...I LOVE MY HD2 BUT THE EVO IS A BULLY! WITH ALL THAT EXTRA GOOD STUFF ESPECIALLY THAT FRONT FACING CAMERA. IM WONDERING ABOUT THE HD2 AND WTH HTC DID NOT RELEASE THIS ONE FOR T-MOBILE! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
@brandizzil Kind of funny, but I want the exact opposite. That is, the looks of Android and the functionality of Windows Mobile.
Android looks much better and is superior as a touch-based OS. On the other hand, Windows Mobile has the most functionality of any mobile OS (with only Symbian coming close); combined with the numerous WinMo apps, there is almost nothing it can't do. By comparison, I couldn't even find a media app to lets me tweak music speed/tempo/pitch on either iOS or Android.
the evo is a little better for sure but t mobile phones get better service generally than sprint. i know this cuz my mom and dad both have sprint blackberrys and i have some friends with sprint too. they all complain about the service but sprint is cheap and it gets the job done.
@dakid2k10 WHO IN THE FUCK CARES ABOUT A KICKSTAND!! lol. Just saying. The kickstand is the stupidest thing i have ever seen put on a phone. The evo is cool but i have a captivate and it kills the evo. Just saying.:)
@nvdmn Yeah, ever put an evo next to any galaxy s phone...lol. Evo is bigger but thaaats about it. evos screen is shit, cam is shit and the graphics are shit and it runs much slower. Take a look at each of thier nenamark scores. dude, evo gets like 20 frames per second. My captivate gets over 50 every time. Exactly.
@iKennKenn3G Calm down dude, any touch screen phone obviously runs smoother then Evo. My friend has it and the only cool thing he can show me is the effects on the camera, and the kickstand.
There's no doubt - Android is much better than WM 6.5.. I have HD2 and I also installed Android 2.2 M Deejay eVo Sense 2.3 Revolution, can't be more satisfied with it now, because WM 6.5 isn't that exited anymore. Also HTC EVO 4G is too good at this time d;) Maybe Windows mobile 7 will change my opinion... Let's see how it goes...
@Kevin323gaw the evo is honestly better. my sister has the HD2, and she only had it for six months and she is on her fourth. the phone crashes really easy and sometimes it blacks out for good.
hd2 FTW just make sure you root it, after that it beats everything, 4g is overrated, iphone is always inferior, you cant upgrade the memory, and you only have a 800mhz processor
No, you're overrated. The Evo has far more features than the HD2, like a dual flash LED and a front-facing camera. And I bet you never had 4G connection, which is why you fail to understand it's massive importance.
aren't they the same phone but ones for tmobile and ones for sprint... that stupid how similar they are and they're called something different and not available for both services
Evo is a nice phone. My buddy has one and i got to mess with it. But then i showed him my HD2 and how i could dual boot Winmobile cutom rom, and Android froyo 2.2 OS's. hook up a wireless PS3 controller to play FPSECE playstation emulater, flash updated radios on a whim, access Tmobiles HSDPA(3.5G) tether my laptop for wireless internet access at no extra cost, destroy his score in Quadrent benchmark, a brighter flashligh...he got a little pissed, and now i'm not allowed to mess with his EVO.
@ez7o3 nope just sprint for now, they might make a tmobile version but probably not since sprint wants custumors to come to them and the evo has a lot of things other companies don't so i'm guessing no :(
Great vid, thanks. My contract is almost up on my Hero so I'm looking at upgrading to the Evo. I use a CelJel to hold my Hero and also for watching videos & tv, so I went to the Sprint store and brought my CelJel to see if it would fit. It's perfect for the Evo too. (the kick stand isn't very stable when you touch the screen) I'm can't wait to get an Evo after my contract is up! Check out the CelJel for your phone reviews, it should work great for you.
and is the htc hd2 4g with 2 cameras?

@brandizzil @SnakePlissken001 Evo 4G Android Rom for HTC HD2? Easy -> XDA DEvelopers
RavensysteM 1 year ago
@brandizzil You can. It's called installing Android and dual booting.
fhantazm 1 year ago
Forensic85 1 year ago
@brandizzil AKA Installing Android on a HD2, which is common practice these days.
Korntof 1 year ago
@brandizzil Kind of funny, but I want the exact opposite. That is, the looks of Android and the functionality of Windows Mobile.
Android looks much better and is superior as a touch-based OS. On the other hand, Windows Mobile has the most functionality of any mobile OS (with only Symbian coming close); combined with the numerous WinMo apps, there is almost nothing it can't do. By comparison, I couldn't even find a media app to lets me tweak music speed/tempo/pitch on either iOS or Android.

@brandizzil you can it's called XDA Developers

the evo is a little better for sure but t mobile phones get better service generally than sprint. i know this cuz my mom and dad both have sprint blackberrys and i have some friends with sprint too. they all complain about the service but sprint is cheap and it gets the job done.

dakid2k10 1 year ago
@dakid2k10 WHO IN THE FUCK CARES ABOUT A KICKSTAND!! lol. Just saying. The kickstand is the stupidest thing i have ever seen put on a phone. The evo is cool but i have a captivate and it kills the evo. Just saying.:)
iKennKenn3G 1 year ago
@iKennKenn3G hah ya right
captivate? ya right
nvdmn 1 year ago
@nvdmn Yeah, ever put an evo next to any galaxy s phone...lol. Evo is bigger but thaaats about it. evos screen is shit, cam is shit and the graphics are shit and it runs much slower. Take a look at each of thier nenamark scores. dude, evo gets like 20 frames per second. My captivate gets over 50 every time. Exactly.
iKennKenn3G 1 year ago

Kevin323gaw 1 year ago
@Kevin323gaw the evo is honestly better. my sister has the HD2, and she only had it for six months and she is on her fourth. the phone crashes really easy and sometimes it blacks out for good.
ipodplaya 1 year ago
@ipodplaya Oh hell no! My HD2 i had if for about 5 months and it is perfectly fine. Tell her to turn it off every night to charge the phone.

i have the HTC HD2 and it's amazing, better than Iphone 4 or blackberry storm 2
mercedesdrifter16 1 year ago
hd2 FTW just make sure you root it, after that it beats everything, 4g is overrated, iphone is always inferior, you cant upgrade the memory, and you only have a 800mhz processor
nhblackdc5 1 year ago
@nhblackdc5
No, you're overrated. The Evo has far more features than the HD2, like a dual flash LED and a front-facing camera. And I bet you never had 4G connection, which is why you fail to understand it's massive importance.
SuperSonicPunk 1 year ago
They are basically the same phone, especially now with custom roms on the HD2. The EVO is also better because it has newer technology.
haitsdonny 1 year ago
aren't they the same phone but ones for tmobile and ones for sprint... that stupid how similar they are and they're called something different and not available for both services

JBfanuntiltheend 1 year ago
Evo is a nice phone. My buddy has one and i got to mess with it. But then i showed him my HD2 and how i could dual boot Winmobile cutom rom, and Android froyo 2.2 OS's. hook up a wireless PS3 controller to play FPSECE playstation emulater, flash updated radios on a whim, access Tmobiles HSDPA(3.5G) tether my laptop for wireless internet access at no extra cost, destroy his score in Quadrent benchmark, a brighter flashligh...he got a little pissed, and now i'm not allowed to mess with his EVO.
Gleekeelg 1 year ago 43
@Gleekeelg
Yeah... you can do all of that with a rooted Evo. Still, both phones decimate Apple, so no big deal.
