I see... this works like a crane, with the wheels and motor on the back to act as a counterweight. While power from the motor is transferred via axle and gearing to simulate an engine inside the helicopter. And the base has a motor for it going up and down, and the controller is there for... obvious reasons. :D

Since the NXT cables are RJ style plugs, you can buy RJ style connectors that can turn through 360 degrees - although designed for phones, they could be adapted. Pop one of those in the middle of a technic turntable and voila. Now the only problem is that they have only 5/6 sliprings. What is really needed is an 15 ring slipring setup with conducting bearings and the right connectors for 3 NXT Cables (mindsensors has the connectors). Could someone enterprising manufacture such a thing?
