Tommy and the boys had been playing Deane Kinkaide's arrangement since 1938, but to really hear it take on a life of its' own, listen to the 1943 live version, by which time Buddy Rich and Ziggy Elman had both joined the band. Knocks me out everytime I hear it, especially when they go into their trumpet-drums challenge.
Hopefully, someday, someone will post that version.
