@mspeichts The player number per district needs to be increased to GTA level or 500, and the barrier that restricts players from interacting with other players not on their mission needs to be done away with, that way we'll get some massive gunfights. Also the map could do with bing the same size as the GTA 4 map.
@Puzzoozoo They have the standard rule-set (currently in-game) and they are experimenting with a Chaos rule-set, where it's basically free-for-all PvP and mission interaction. I am interested in that, big-time.
@mspeichts I'm not keen on FFA, I'd be happier with a TDM type match, in that the enforcers give a APB for reinforcments, and any enforcers come to their assisitance, so eventually you'd have a city wide TDM(s), and if the player cap was raised to GTA vlevel of 500, it'd be possible for 250 v 250 split into seperate engagements not restricted to the present little 5 v 5 skirmishes.
@Puzzoozoo I imagine once they see true FFA and how not-fun it will be, they will work on something similar to TDM. The game has a long way to go, as it's pretty narrow-scoped right now. Still fun as hell, though, heh.
@mspeichts It might be fun, but I'm defering purchasing it till the end of August to see what the devs are going to do via patches ect. I'd also hop they raise the player cap to GTA levels, as 100 players seems an awfully small number for a city sized map. Maybe a further sdevalopment could be the devs expand the map into other areas, or make the presnt combat zones bigger.
@Puzzoozoo yea the game is only a shadow of what they hyped it up to be but it works out with 100 players, the map sizes if any bigger you would never see those other players, one of the maps is to big for 100 already. they hyped it up to be this MMO like fighting in massive battles, but we all know that unless a game company decides to dumb down their FX to PlanetSide standards, we will never see more than 100 players any time soon because the trend is better graphics, not more max players
@walmartian If its going to be developed as a game that you P2P, then it'll have to morph into an MMO, which means joining the two action zones together to make one big sandbox, and then raise the player count to around 5,000 to fill it up, plus increae the AI figures, and to add a bit of spice have some of the AI figures have there own guns, and able to kill the players character. :-)

And no, It's only similar to GTA in the sense that t's set in a big city with pedestrians, ect. It's essentially a big, real time game of "Cops n Robbers."
There aren't any loading screens. As you progress you are matched up in real time in the game based on your actions. For example, if you were to commit some crimes with someone witnessing them as a criminal, an enforcer might spawn in your area and have an objective to kill/arrest you. You never fight NPCs. Every engagement is a "match" made in real time with other players. You can look at who is participating in your area as well. This is the "lobby"
From the beta, I would estimate that 50 hours of gameplay that you're initially given would equal about 60-65 hours of actual playing time. Of course, you can always stay in the "social areas" of the game for free, and there are ways of making money in those areas. It's not a perfect game, but it's unique, free form, and fairly solid. Also, it doesn't use the "wave the pretty string in front of the kitty" schemes of most mmos, so it should be more enjoyable long term.
Wish you were allowed more characters for Youtube comments. I thought I should mention that every area of the game is instanced many many times, so when a person "spawns" by you, really they are being seamlessly moved into your particular instance. You can create crews, or complete missions/engagements in groups. You have a persistent character and an above average customization system. I'm not a fan of mmos in general, but they have put a bit of thought into this one.
One more thing, IMO this game lacks a lot of polish and the shooting/driving is only decent. It's a good original mmo, but I probably won't be buying it at the current price. I'm sure it's worth it for some though.
Guys actuelly think for once... if they made it for ps3/xbox do you realize how hard it would be to costomize? and many other things that they would have to compleatly change, certain games are ment for computer only -.-. just stop complaining, run a virus scan, and enjoy the game

Fees: $6.99 for 20 non-expiring hours of Action District Gameplay, $9.99 for 30 consecutive days (which expires after 30 days). They are offering discounts for 90 and 180 day purchases as well.
100 Players per Action District, 250 Players per Social District, 100,000 Players per server/world. Players are matched in real-time via missions against other equally skilled players (which is based on your experience playing the game, the number above the player's head).

@mspeichts The player number per district needs to be increased to GTA level or 500, and the barrier that restricts players from interacting with other players not on their mission needs to be done away with, that way we'll get some massive gunfights. Also the map could do with bing the same size as the GTA 4 map.

@mspeichts I'm not keen on FFA, I'd be happier with a TDM type match, in that the enforcers give a APB for reinforcments, and any enforcers come to their assisitance, so eventually you'd have a city wide TDM(s), and if the player cap was raised to GTA vlevel of 500, it'd be possible for 250 v 250 split into seperate engagements not restricted to the present little 5 v 5 skirmishes.

@Puzzoozoo I imagine once they see true FFA and how not-fun it will be, they will work on something similar to TDM. The game has a long way to go, as it's pretty narrow-scoped right now. Still fun as hell, though, heh.

@mspeichts It might be fun, but I'm defering purchasing it till the end of August to see what the devs are going to do via patches ect. I'd also hop they raise the player cap to GTA levels, as 100 players seems an awfully small number for a city sized map. Maybe a further sdevalopment could be the devs expand the map into other areas, or make the presnt combat zones bigger.

@Puzzoozoo yea the game is only a shadow of what they hyped it up to be but it works out with 100 players, the map sizes if any bigger you would never see those other players, one of the maps is to big for 100 already. they hyped it up to be this MMO like fighting in massive battles, but we all know that unless a game company decides to dumb down their FX to PlanetSide standards, we will never see more than 100 players any time soon because the trend is better graphics, not more max players

@walmartian If its going to be developed as a game that you P2P, then it'll have to morph into an MMO, which means joining the two action zones together to make one big sandbox, and then raise the player count to around 5,000 to fill it up, plus increae the AI figures, and to add a bit of spice have some of the AI figures have there own guns, and able to kill the players character. :-)

@Puzzoozoo yea that would be awesome, but seems like 5-10 years away. i dont think that will happen until APB2. which is BS, game companies are more focused on FX than anything else, which is why we never get huge multi player games. the trend doesnt seem to be ending any time soon- its all about the best graphics these days, not more players/AI, which is fuckin retarded the only ppl who care alot about FX are little kids

@holynoobi thats true also, but I'd prefer just a free to play game so even after a few months of not playing i can start it back up and play again although I've heard something about paying per hour which either is goin to work out nicely and cheap or its going to be overpriced and a hugely annoying while trying to play a game but not play too much to go over your play time. I mean 50 bucks at the start and paying per hour could get pretty pricey

Wow Morongotongo ya might wanna read the complete pricing drescription, not only is there hourly pay. You can also have unlimited access. Or you can sell your in game items for RTS points which you can convert into game time. So you could technically make items in game and get game time for it. Also your hours are only used in the combat sections in the 2 districts, waterfront and financial. The social district is unlimited time always. (As of this date anyway)

They did this because some people have lives and cant play for more then 20 hours a month so why should they pay full price? also theres a free zone where you can play with everyone chat hang out explore and such for FREE thats right if you dont pay monthly or hourly YOU CAN STILL PLAY no name a MMO that is that cheep and is not F2P and/or allows you to play if you dont pay

average player isnt gonna clocked 100days in this game in under1 year. that's 180 dollars with the usually monthly sub. with the hours fee i could pay for 100days in game for little more than half that.
so break out you calculator and do the math. ...and if your actually clocking more than 100days in an MMO in less than 365 days you are doing something wrong in life.

@Keinichn Yep that's true. Depends on how good you are at creating designs and symbols or composing music. I've got the game but i'm not playing until the stuttering and lag issues that me and the majority of people that are experience despite having more machines that are above the minimum requirements. I hope they get the patch out soon. But besides that i can spend time in social district i guess :D

You're also wrong! The game costs $49.99 and they give you 50 hours of gametime. Once your game time is expired, you can choose between two payment methods from $6.99 for an additional 20 hours, while more frequent players can switch to a 30-day unlimited package for only $9.99.
This payment style only applies to action districts, the game has social districts where players can customize their characters, clothing, cars & weapons for free without ever buying gametime.

There aren't any loading screens. As you progress you are matched up in real time in the game based on your actions. For example, if you were to commit some crimes with someone witnessing them as a criminal, an enforcer might spawn in your area and have an objective to kill/arrest you. You never fight NPCs. Every engagement is a "match" made in real time with other players. You can look at who is participating in your area as well. This is the "lobby"

From the beta, I would estimate that 50 hours of gameplay that you're initially given would equal about 60-65 hours of actual playing time. Of course, you can always stay in the "social areas" of the game for free, and there are ways of making money in those areas. It's not a perfect game, but it's unique, free form, and fairly solid. Also, it doesn't use the "wave the pretty string in front of the kitty" schemes of most mmos, so it should be more enjoyable long term.

Wish you were allowed more characters for Youtube comments. I thought I should mention that every area of the game is instanced many many times, so when a person "spawns" by you, really they are being seamlessly moved into your particular instance. You can create crews, or complete missions/engagements in groups. You have a persistent character and an above average customization system. I'm not a fan of mmos in general, but they have put a bit of thought into this one.
