In latin america, people is proud to be called "el negro", it's not racist at all, that's just in USA. In most of our countries, even people who is not dark skinned are called "el negro o la negra" because our roots come from indians, white and black, and we're very proud of all of them. So it's not racist to us, it's an honor.
