If you know Amiga, you know about the new X1000 and a new notebook by Amiga? Are they one and the same or different systems? It's a bit fuzzy at times.

They are PPC, like the IBM Power 5, but will the Amiga run IBM AIX?

I really want to know. It would be awesome since I can chuck the RS6000 and have a newer and smaller system for it.

@bioscorperation2 no, not because of awesomeness and technical capabilities -- Amiga did in 1990 what some computers still cannot do, at 8 times the processor speed -- but because of marketability. If Amiga can find a profitable niche -- keyword is PROFITABLE -- then we can expect to see the machines and OS mass produced in other lines of business, like consumer/prosumer.

Amiga was the best computer ever invented and the OS was the best and will still be the best for all time! When I see your video I want to get an Amiga OS 4.1 as well. I still have my Amiga 1200 tower with OS 3.5 and should still work. Great video!

Why do you think that PowerPC board with PCI/PCI-E cards, DDR/DDR2 RAM,SATA/SATA2 hards and DVD`s that can run AmigaOS 4 and PowerPC Linux is not a real computer? And produced in EU, not chinese crap that dies in year or two. Sometimes is good when there is no such quick markets, dirty and buggy OS realises ... We do enjoy it!

@vojinvidanovic79 Why is that not a real computer? BECAUSE IT HAS AMIGA OS 4 WHICH IS COMPATIBLE WITH NOTHING IN ANY INDUSTRY ANYWHERE... It lasts for years becuase:

it doesn't need to stay up to date with current hardware

nothing new ever comes out for it

no1 would bother to hack it becuase any data it holds would be irrelevant

its always been ugly so current style is not an issue

Won't crash becuase you use the same 5 programs OVER AND OVER

you have to make your own programs IF YOU WANT MORE

While Im not interested in using OS4.x (cos of the hardware price/lack of performance(Im an AROS guy)), some of the responses here are bizarre. It's not an Amiga its an Apple ? WTF? It's not an amiga cos its not old ? huh? Time goes on, things change. It *is* an Amiga whether or not you like the direction. Does Windows stop being Windows cos its Vista or W7 ? Used to own a blizzardPPC card for my A1200 but gave up waiting for OS4 to come out..

Dude, I have a Pegasos II here with MorphOS 1.4.5 (don´t wanna buy MOS2.0), I think about getting Amiga OS4.1 for my Peg. Have you tried MorphOS, if so, would you recommend that I get OS4.1 (I would buy it anyway if the price gets under 100Euro) but, what do you think? Haven´t watched the rest of the vid, but I´ll do that right now!
