Well, I went 20/1/1 yesterday by playing yi with this strategy. Also, there were only 2 people on my team from the begining of the game. First point in alpha strike. Every time you can't put something in alpha strike for the first 5 levels, put it in wuju style. Lvl 6, highlander. It goes on like this, maxing alpha strike, then wuju and highlander. I only use meditate to spend my points, i never used it the entire game, because I find it takes too much mana.
can you use meditate during battle, or even use it before jumping into battle and keeping it's effect while fighting? or is it simply used to recover after a fight?
@KarimBoctorAwad You can meditate any time it is off cd but meditate is a channeled ability so it stops you from doing anything. So if you are AD yi you would use it to either survive an AP burst, survive a tower dive, or use it to heal after a fight(don't expect much healing from it). AP yi would use it to heal a massive amount or proc lich bane(if AP yi even builds lich bane...).
i always buy phatom dancer first, than infinity edge, and than as many phantom dancers as possible. hgh moving speeds, atk damage and crit. strike. u will rock!@!
maan boots are only good until level 10 then u need teh big boy stuff. Highlander plus wuju blade guarantees easy kills. just alpha strike in then activate them. Always start with alpha strike cause its an easy 100 damage(i know armor and stuff) and its gets you in close. its also a ns chase move. I level up alpha then move onto using wuju and highlander saving meditate for last. I use this with divine blade, bloodthirster, infinity edge, warmogs armor, wits end, and yommus ghost blade
Meditate isn't useless in a middle of a team fight use it and essentially it's invincibility, also building all damage items is a horrible idea because then you just get bursted down so fast. Go for boots and 3 offensive items before building last 2 as tank (Lifesteal is NOT tank)
i always prefered dps yi as i could life steal and high damage. I played against an ap yi and dominated him and he was fed .. How does AP yi really work against the other DPS yis?
@ilovemenlol Well, AP yi doesn't have the same play style at all. AP focuses on landing alpha and then backing off till its off cd.The only other way to do damage with him is procing lich bane with his other abilities. You will most likely see AP Yi doing a hit and run kite using his superior speed to reduce the damage he takes. To beat a fed one all you need to do is pop meditate when he alphas and then burn him down before the cd is up.

If I escape another play for enough time to cast meditate,why won't I just go to the base? cuz I'm sure I won't be close to anything and I'd need a field dressing really fast as the enemy may pursuit me till my legs drop.
Just pump everything else,get atk speed and dmg+lifesteal and critical,and go own ANYTHING.
@idvhfd what if ur in a lane defending a tower at low health? i dont think going back to base would be the smart thing to do when u have ur own personal garen passive >.>

@jobranLB If you are going physical then stick with physical. Hybrid Yi isn't very good since AP and physical have completely different play styles and you will end up being less effective then either of the pure builds since you really can't play both styles at the same time.
@jobranLB go for berserker boots first, then starks fervor, then phantom dancer, then infinity edge then the bloodthirster. usually thats all ull get up to but u can chose 6th item if u reach it, based on ur play style. (trinity force would be an allrounder 6th item but its expensive)
@deathscaress yeh black cleaver or last whisper good for tanks but... dont go ghost with Yi. His ulti is ghost but better. id say go exhaust and cleanse because cc's can be a nightmare with him... or exhaust and flash if u want.. but not ghost.
@PlainOldCrap I disagree, ghost can be useful for closing to an enemy nexus quickly, and u want to have highlander on as long as possible while attacking the nexus so using it to get close isnt as useful. thats how i play Yi anyways and it usually works for me.
i start with boots with 3 pots, den rush starks first den phantom dancer. at around lvl 11 u have like base dmg of at least 110 due to wuju style, go for bf swords and eventually to infinity edge, frozen mallet, and bloodthurster. i got like 21/6/10 in a normal game.
lol just start buying phantom dancers (2) 1 boot for attack speed and speed 1 malady 1 golden tooth (i dont remember if this is the name but it is the gold stinger)
and sth that gives you damage and life steal then youll be unstopable
meditate is very useful! especially when youre in a mob, getting outnumber but with support and everyone is targeting you. you can manage to stay alive and have the opposing team picked off while they try to kill you!!! but i say meditate early game is garbage, just but potions if you have to, or tele to base.
The build I use for nice speed and crit is, vampiric scepter at start, then berserker greaves, starks fervor, phantom, sword of occult and infinitys edge.

yi is not easy plus meditate is helpful some people or dumb to attck u at your turrent so u meditate and let your turrent do all the work and i get 2.5 attck speed so then i would only need low life steal so then i will kill all at the same time
zilean time warp + nunu blood boil + sona song of celerity + ezreal essence flux + galio righteous gust + nidalee primal surge + sivir on the hunt on master yi ulti = super super fast speed and movement
i dont know if its good but heres my build for yi: berserker boot, avandor blade( the one that generates money) phantom dancer, Infinity edge, bloodthirster and with the rest of the money i will keep buying phantom dancer.
I would have to disagree with your opinion on AP Yi. The problem with AP Yi is that you're either GOD TIER or you're shit and get blamed for anything. Primarily DPS Yi with Rylai's Scepter or Zhonya's Ring usually is a safe bet for a consistent game.

Anyway you should check the date of the video or the little disclaimer saying get meditate earlier. At the time this was recorded meditate was terrible, barely worth the mana cost, especially when the current build was a high AS/AD/lifesteal combo.
@Sinsuna yes i start off stacking attack damage with master yi's E if you get first blood or a good start you can have 150+ attack power at level six and his ult gives you the attack speed . :)

@zero916619 check date, when this was posted meditate had bad numbers and I honestly don't think it had the armor/mr. I personally only was able to use it once to save myself from a tower dive. It wasn't worth the mana it cost to use it.
i think your itembuild is bad...for Yi needs much critical strike items, but not items like executiors calling...and for me it looked like you havnt play yi much before.
in minute 2:37 it looks like that you have 11 deaths...
B. Check the date this was uploaded... I have been playing Yi for a long time. For the game now you probably shouldn't be playing Yi and if you do you should be playing AP Yi.
C. and yet 4:37 I am 12/1/1 so... I'm pretty sure I can't erase deaths.

first bluepill 2 dorans rings and boots +1 then just go on for Mercurys and Zhonyas Lichbane and Void staff you will kill all with your Alpha strike and if they focuse you you just use Meditate :D and you will see how many life you will regain
im pretty sure the only time meditate is useful is when your in a 3v3 playing an ap YI and you heal at max rank for like 1.1k per channel? 'XD other then that.. useless. YI is squishy, but a free reigning Yi will rape you, specially if hes got the item build to max his dmg output. highlander is when you can start getting and netting kills. although i do manage sometimes some very early (1-3/4) kills which is an aded bonus. i cant disagree with anything you said.
Nice vid what I usually put on yi is I stock up money for Starks fevor the beserkers greaves the last whisper the masted bloodrazor and bloodthirster and for my skills I just put 1 pt into each not highlander then put points into alpha and wuju till highlander
i mean meditate heals more and attacking in bursts eliminates atck speed cuz they just run? squaring up with someone attck speed is boss but
basicly i just get ninja boots for speed last whisper 2 agilty cloaks and if needed magic resist just boots for melee u heal:P also i start with mana aura regen to burst and use all my moves.
@Chaoswithin1342 Back when I made this video Meditate was a very weak skill, yes it did heal you but its mana cost was high compared to the health it gave back. Since then it has recieved buffs which make it far more useful then before. It should now be used to block impending nukes whether AP or AD. That being said it should not be used to just randomly heal when you can avoid it unless you pick up some mana regen since it is still taxing on his limited mana pool.

When I use him, I stack stingers and recurve bows, because with that he attacks so fast I can take down turrets with just like 3 minions, so he beats the hell out of them, and his alpha strike and highlander spells are awesome for chasing people down when you have them on the run, so I love him, and I'm not very good and I've won a 1v3 before so he's epic in my opinion.
i go for a life stealer build, after farming for about lv15 and 20-30k gold, i buy mah equips, and gain 500 hp per hit, and have 2.000 aspd, takes 3 ppl to beat me if they're lucky.
I think this is an good strike that i always using =) i get like 20 kills per round First alpha striking on the target then u spawn beside target make the ultimate attack so u get speeded (faster) and attack speed then u take the 3 attack so u will hurt him more and you shall buy recommended items loweest price and upon =)
well i think your guilde is pretty usefull... but i wrote my own built, with which i get 65% crit, 30% lifesteal, 2.4 attacke speed and like 500 dmg with crit, sounds not much, but with the attacke speed it's pretty hard for an enemy to stand against me, cuz that's without wuju-style activatet or highlander.

@IceinDark Watch my guide if you like, I don't really care. I don't record most games since I want to be at my best and when I record I get lag spikes sometimes. So the video I have is what I put up, I don't just put up a domination game and say that we won because I'm amazing. It is a team game, if my team isn't great, I will probably lose regardless of my abilities with the champion or my build.

@ernispel Yeah, sorry that he was at half health it probably would have been more impressive if I killed him in 3-4 shots from full health. Also I would have been pretty disappointed if they weren't crits since almost all of my items are crit related and my runes were all crit damage. You have to remember that this isn't the same game that you are playing now. It has changed so dramatically since when I made this.
@MrScue u knew u can use meditate when u getting atked and when theres an other alie in ur neigborhood use it it well get up ur defence and ur alie can atk him while u are keep same hp

Don't you realize that winning depends on more than one person on the team? I won a match just today against a player that went 32 kills and 0 deaths.
lifesteal attack speed and AD = domination i reccomend getting all the recomended items except the 1 tht gives more health regen, i get executioners calling i think is wat its called for the added lifesteal
@rakuencallisto pretty much any class besides a tank is screwed when they get focussed some don't have the advantage of highlander. He isn't really op but he can win games by backdooring because of his speed, fast attacks and high dmg.
I never take mid... i usally take top or bot depending which side im on...i get wuju as my first skill and buy my boots cus not many people usally get thier boots early so tey run skiwer than you...its great to chase heros with 90+ damage and critting 150 my summoner skills is exhuast and ignite great to slow and extra damage then i go malady and infintie edge after that i just get phantom dancers because it will give me 100 crit and plus 45% move speed and the atk speed is crazy plus 60 dodge

@SuperCookieLand I start with vamp scepter-> Zerk greaves-> Exe calling-> Zeal -> IE -> Phantom Dancer-> Bloodthirster. But that was a long time ago, exe calling should probably be replaced with a malady. Zerk greaves could be replaced with merc treads.
Best build for master yi is lots of ability power because every ability power point you have will boost your alpha strike by 1 dmg so ... when you put like an item with 125 ability power and 1 with spell penetration and maybe reduce cooldowns YOU RULE and you farm like crazy and if you kill the ogre in the forest and get the blue aura you will have mana and even more reduced cooldowns and you have alpha strike with 3 sec CD and Meditate will heal you 3000 hp you should try IT'S SOOO EASY
Hmm this is the old version of the game. yes your tatics are nice but his item build has changed i guess well for me it did. i take boots first when game starts with 3 hp pots. then i pick wuju style instead of alpah strike. then my masterie is atm 21 offense and 7 util. for runes i use pure attack speed atm its 31+%. for items i use ( greaves, then malay, then marde, then last whiper, then phantom dancer, then inifinty edge ) by that time you can gank anything ( 1 v 2 )
meditate is the best skill he has...

Anyway you should check the date of the video or the little disclaimer saying get meditate earlier. At the time this was recorded meditate was terrible, barely worth the mana cost, especially when the current build was a high AS/AD/lifesteal combo.

@Sinsuna yes i start off stacking attack damage with master yi's E if you get first blood or a good start you can have 150+ attack power at level six and his ult gives you the attack speed . :)

@Sinsuna Yep. Most people still go AD/AS, and meditate is crap on that build. Max E, then Q is how it's done. But don't try to tell scrubs that.

@zero916619 check date, when this was posted meditate had bad numbers and I honestly don't think it had the armor/mr. I personally only was able to use it once to save myself from a tower dive. It wasn't worth the mana it cost to use it.

i think your itembuild is bad...for Yi needs much critical strike items, but not items like executiors calling...and for me it looked like you havnt play yi much before.

B. Check the date this was uploaded... I have been playing Yi for a long time. For the game now you probably shouldn't be playing Yi and if you do you should be playing AP Yi.

you all should Try out AP YI à la HOTSHOTGG buy Doran's ring in the beginning and a red pot
first bluepill 2 dorans rings and boots +1 then just go on for Mercurys and Zhonyas Lichbane and Void staff you will kill all with your Alpha strike and if they focuse you you just use Meditate :D and you will see how many life you will regain

im pretty sure the only time meditate is useful is when your in a 3v3 playing an ap YI and you heal at max rank for like 1.1k per channel? 'XD other then that.. useless. YI is squishy, but a free reigning Yi will rape you, specially if hes got the item build to max his dmg output. highlander is when you can start getting and netting kills. although i do manage sometimes some very early (1-3/4) kills which is an aded bonus. i cant disagree with anything you said.

i mean meditate heals more and attacking in bursts eliminates atck speed cuz they just run? squaring up with someone attck speed is boss but
basicly i just get ninja boots for speed last whisper 2 agilty cloaks and if needed magic resist just boots for melee u heal:P also i start with mana aura regen to burst and use all my moves.

@Chaoswithin1342 Back when I made this video Meditate was a very weak skill, yes it did heal you but its mana cost was high compared to the health it gave back. Since then it has recieved buffs which make it far more useful then before. It should now be used to block impending nukes whether AP or AD. That being said it should not be used to just randomly heal when you can avoid it unless you pick up some mana regen since it is still taxing on his limited mana pool.

When I use him, I stack stingers and recurve bows, because with that he attacks so fast I can take down turrets with just like 3 minions, so he beats the hell out of them, and his alpha strike and highlander spells are awesome for chasing people down when you have them on the run, so I love him, and I'm not very good and I've won a 1v3 before so he's epic in my opinion.

i go for a life stealer build, after farming for about lv15 and 20-30k gold, i buy mah equips, and gain 500 hp per hit, and have 2.000 aspd, takes 3 ppl to beat me if they're lucky.

I think this is an good strike that i always using =) i get like 20 kills per round First alpha striking on the target then u spawn beside target make the ultimate attack so u get speeded (faster) and attack speed then u take the 3 attack so u will hurt him more and you shall buy recommended items loweest price and upon =)

well i think your guilde is pretty usefull... but i wrote my own built, with which i get 65% crit, 30% lifesteal, 2.4 attacke speed and like 500 dmg with crit, sounds not much, but with the attacke speed it's pretty hard for an enemy to stand against me, cuz that's without wuju-style activatet or highlander.

@IceinDark Watch my guide if you like, I don't really care. I don't record most games since I want to be at my best and when I record I get lag spikes sometimes. So the video I have is what I put up, I don't just put up a domination game and say that we won because I'm amazing. It is a team game, if my team isn't great, I will probably lose regardless of my abilities with the champion or my build.

@ernispel Yeah, sorry that he was at half health it probably would have been more impressive if I killed him in 3-4 shots from full health. Also I would have been pretty disappointed if they weren't crits since almost all of my items are crit related and my runes were all crit damage. You have to remember that this isn't the same game that you are playing now. It has changed so dramatically since when I made this.

I never take mid... i usally take top or bot depending which side im on...i get wuju as my first skill and buy my boots cus not many people usally get thier boots early so tey run skiwer than you...its great to chase heros with 90+ damage and critting 150 my summoner skills is exhuast and ignite great to slow and extra damage then i go malady and infintie edge after that i just get phantom dancers because it will give me 100 crit and plus 45% move speed and the atk speed is crazy plus 60 dodge

@SuperCookieLand I start with vamp scepter-> Zerk greaves-> Exe calling-> Zeal -> IE -> Phantom Dancer-> Bloodthirster. But that was a long time ago, exe calling should probably be replaced with a malady. Zerk greaves could be replaced with merc treads.

Best build for master yi is lots of ability power because every ability power point you have will boost your alpha strike by 1 dmg so ... when you put like an item with 125 ability power and 1 with spell penetration and maybe reduce cooldowns YOU RULE and you farm like crazy and if you kill the ogre in the forest and get the blue aura you will have mana and even more reduced cooldowns and you have alpha strike with 3 sec CD and Meditate will heal you 3000 hp you should try IT'S SOOO EASY

Hmm this is the old version of the game. yes your tatics are nice but his item build has changed i guess well for me it did. i take boots first when game starts with 3 hp pots. then i pick wuju style instead of alpah strike. then my masterie is atm 21 offense and 7 util. for runes i use pure attack speed atm its 31+%. for items i use ( greaves, then malay, then marde, then last whiper, then phantom dancer, then inifinty edge ) by that time you can gank anything ( 1 v 2 )
