Watching the scene with Bruce, Gordon and Robin, I was just imagining it as a morning TV show.
I was waiting for Gordon to say, 'Coming up later in the show, Bruce Wayne will be revealing his favourite lamb recipes while Robin shows us all the best fashions to keep you looking stylish this winter.'
@NJCorleone Joker Goes to School - Joker attacks at Dick's high school and Batman calls the student council (of which Dick Grayson is president) together to discuss the events
@BGDD27 Traditionally, Dick's only family were his parents. That's why Bruce was able to adopt him. Harriet Cooper was created for the show and then transferred to the comics for a short time while dying out. Technically, her appearance didn't make any sense, since if she was related to him, then she would have been awarded custody, not Bruce. Even if Bruce offered to let them live in Wayne Manor, Dick should not have been his ward.
I agree. First, that combination turban and pillbox cap she wore in the previous clip. Then, a tight orange blouse and a form-fitting golden maxi-skirt.
No wonder I had a crush on her when I was a kid. She sure knew how to dress to turn men's heads.
Btw: the "emergency telecast" originally included Commissioner Gordon holding up a notarized letter from that newspaper publisher confirming that he had fabricated that headline on behalf of Batman.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Why is mrs. cooper hovering without any kind of rope or anything? Is the villain telekenetic? Did they explain that in part 1 of this eppisode? Or is it just as pointless and nonsensical as everything else in this show?
Also, because actress Madge Blake had ill heath, she was only able to appear as Aunt Harriet in olny two series 3 epsiodes. She also was mentioned in another, with her absense explained that she was in a state of shock updstairs.
plus with the new additon of Batgirl there wasnt alot of screen time for another chariture.
the thing is though, watch real carefuly when she does appear in the thrird season. watch how the actors treat her. espesily the actor playing Gordon. you can really see the kindness and, if you will, reverence, in which they treat her.
lol at the commissioner "Uh, Hello out there criminals can you hear me?"

its sad that aunt harriet's apperence dwindeled later on because of the actresses failing health.
deadman00 3 years ago 10
Is that why? I thought it was they didn't have the money to pay her and Batgirl at the same time.
FanOfBats 3 years ago
yeah it was because of her ill health.
no not cause of money.
she died in 1969

@deadman00 It was for both reasons, according to interviews in the Official Batman book.

@deadman00 I was wondering about that just the other day. I thought they let her go b/c of the intro of Batgirl. Thanks for clearing that up.
