Obama didn't write the details of this bill. He wanted the congress to work out the details. The Republicans have had plenty of opportunity in the last year to participate. Instead they chose to be obstructionists and the only thing they offer that isn't in the bill is tort reform which will only count for a small fraction of the problem with the health care system we have today. Even if we made it illegal to sue docs for any reason it would only save 3% annually of the total spent on HC.
