  • Thank you barehairy for the history lesson.

Tommy Tucker's stuff strikes my soul.

  • This is a great version- the original, I gather?

  • I worked with his ex wife at the Clarks - Ontario stores .. GREAT worker and friend !!

  • RIP TOMMY TUCKER!

  • When I was in high school in Little Rock, I used to tune in "Groovy Boy" from KWKH -- shreveport -- he played an hour of this stuff every afternoon!! He was actually white, but he fooled us!!! Later, I moved to Fort Huachuca and the "Army Brats" were having parties and dancing to the same music.

    Way before Rock and Roll

    Rick (Jolley) Zahniser

  • I haven't heard this song since I was a kid nearly 50 years ago.Great classic.

  • One of the greatest R & B tunes,.........2nd favorite version of this is the Stones---check it!

  • Jerry Lee Lewis on Shindig 1965 has an explosive rendition of this song. He's 'real deal' Southern Soul as good as anybody.

  • Damn! I use to only associate this music with groups

like the Rolling Stones and the Monkeys. Turns out

this was black ghetto music from the hood!! I still dig

the Stones but I wish these cats would've got more

    credit. This is so raw.

  • Perfect get ready and go out to dance track...just love it!

  • Never knew what a Wig Hat was, but it was fun to listen to, Wasn't allowed to listen to that "race music" in my youth. We found a way arounfd the restriction..Good thing...

  • This was a favorite from my misspent youth. I always loved it for the intricacy of the background, and of course for the undecipherable lyrics.

  • I remember picking this up at a record place right after a Brooklyn Academy of Music concert hosted by Murray the K - one of the best blues guitar/organ hooks out there. Thanks.
