  • Great video...I go back to 1963 with my first game at the Polo Grounds as a six year old and guess what? We suck. Go Kenny Bos!!!!!!!!

  • Many people don't know that the Mets colors of blue, orange and white are for the the Brooklyn Dodgers and New York Giants who stabbed their fans in the back and moved to the west coast in the late 50s...

  • @parkman35 Everyone knows that.

  • @zipsrule Then tell us zip...whose idea was it to use the colors?

  • RIP Ruth Roberts :(

  • RIP Ruth Roberts

  • Meet the Mets, meet the Mets, the Braves Will Always Beat the Mets!!!

    Go Braves!!!

  • Don't despair, Mets fans -- though it's a dark gloomy day today, someday the glory days will return. Everyone, enjoy the stroll down memory lane (if you are old enough). If not, just sing along to MEET THE METS!

  • my grandpa pulled one of ed kranepools teeth out during the world series

  • My dad loved the Mets because of how incompetent they were for the first few years. His favorite player was "Marvelous" Marv Throneberry

  • I don't think you could find a finer man of integrity whom everyone liked than Gil Hodges. It is a shame he has the most votes of anyone not elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame and is stilln ot in the Hall!

  • @GilHodgesFan Thank you for your words about the late, great Gil Hodges. Such a shamble he is not in the Hall of Fame.

  • @jad50 You are very welcome. Gil is my favorite baseball player. He was the best First Baseman of the 1950s with the Brooklyn Dodgers and an outstanding manager of the NY Mets. He deserves to be in the Hall for playing and for managing. I was born the year Brooklyn won the World Series and grew up in the Midwest so I never saw him play. Most people here in Iowa are Cubbie fans. I have read alot about him in the last couple of years and could not believe that he is not in the Hall

  • I rememebr going to see Nolan Ryan start a game.

Oh those memories, all the trains i used to take to Willets Point Shea Stadium. It will always have a special place in my heart.

I miss the old days. I left the east coast around 1981, and fell out of following until around 1986. I was living in Houston, when the Mets won the pennant in Houston...1986.

  • Gil Hodges #14 /My Father met him at Ebbets field during the Brooklyn Dodgers hey day. My Father was big guy, and he told me that Gils hands were the size of base ball mitts!!

  • i was in the 2nd grade when they won and it was a day game. all the kids that sat by the window, we all had our ears glued to the window because the maintenance man had the game on the radio.one of my best memories of childhood
