sort of, if u have the hop up fully on it will make the bb curve way up and it will be impossible to hit your target, hence defeating the purpose of getting more accuracy and range from ur hop up. hope i helped, happy airsofting :)

im actually building my own airsoft gun, and this is one of the things im stumped at.

i used to have a cheap airsoft m4 that the barrel was tilted upward to create range, no hopup, it was simple, but at medium range, it started to fall, so the bb would hit about a foot under where you were aiming

it could also be the gram of bb you're using-I would use at least a .25g or higher for greater accuracy and range; don't know much about the hopup

he just told you, turn it a bit, shoot and see where the BBs go. then adjust it untill the BBs are fired in a straight line.

In bolt actions I think they can be adjusted without opening up the whole assembly because it has a simpler mechanism than the AEG's :)

I'm no expert, but that's just my opinion. If someone knows better please clarify me :D

I found out that the bb curves up at about 100-120 ft or so, so you can probably adjust your scope by shooting at a way shorter distance. Then later you can see if the bb is falling too short or curving to upwards.

FPS isnt pointless, but is not all you should want in your gun. You can have a reasonable fps yet shoot further than a ridiculously high fps gun. Its about accuracy and range.

I believe you lube the gun in order for the parts to work better and more fluidly not to achieve higher fps. If anything, lube in the wrong places (the hop up system) can mess your shot up completely as the BB will become too lubed and will not fly properly

the Panther Arms m4a1 carbine. it also comes in a duty kit that comes with a pistol. it is 300 fps and the pistol is 200. check out my review of them to see what it comes with. leave a comment when ur done watching it

I would recommend the Echo1 M4. Echo1 Is a good, reliable brand (from my experience) that offers pretty good pricing. $130 can usually get you a good AEG from Echo1. I ordered mine from empire airsoft. You can find their website through google. Panther Arms is not a good brand to use because they are low-end, low quality Electrics that aren't worth your time/money. I got the full stock M4 becuase I wanted a larger battery, but CQB Stock (adjustable) is just as good. hope you find something

For any of you wondering exactly how a hop up system works....

Inside the hop up chamber on the end of the barrel there is a rubber cover called a BUCKING, the barrel has a small hole in it where the bucking covers it and inside the hop up mechanism there is a NUB. Another rubber piece that will press down on the BB when more hop up is added. This pressure on the BB will put a backspin on it, simliar to rifling of a real gun. The spin keeps the BB in line, but too much makes it vear off.
