supposedly, my dog is 1/8 wolf (mother was 1/4-all I saw was a skinny white shepherd with a grey tail...) but mine definitely looks wolfish - especially while swimming/snarling/howling..( I seem 2 recall her littermates being golden but she looked wolfen from day 1) -perhaps someone was mistakenI about her parentage....( I have another dog that appears not to be of the parental breeds claimed either) sorry to distract, but I had to mention I always loved wolves and I love having a 'throwback'

I hate it when these beautiful animals, and every other animal, is kept in captivity and hunted to near extinction . It is byond ridiculous. But now, due to hunting, I'm supporting them having controlled groups of wolves to breed and produce more and let the population rise again.

If you want to help stop hunting of these unique animals, just search wolf help. There are websites out there to write letters to the senate, president, etc.

Everyone of you can help their cause.

They aren't even close to being endangered anymore . .grey wolves are native to the US . . timberwolves are. So yes, they need to be harvested . . I found an elk the other week with dead completely whole . . except for a giant hole in the anus where they ripped out the fetus of the cow elk . . so yes that elk laid there dying while they rip the baby apart . . mainly for fun . .called surplus kill .. wolves enjoy the thrill of a kill, they don't have emotions like a human.

What I did mean is, they are part of the K-9 family, so do I want to manage the labrador population? NO. Wolves are a native wild species. They need to be managed, just like any other wild game. I don't feel the need for them the be exterminated. I know we need them. A form of management is necessary in Montana. (where I live).
