  • What's a stack train?

I've always loved the sound of those diesels.

  • @AirCargoHeavy - A stack train is a train consisting primarily of well cars hauling containers.

  • @AirCargoHeavy Its basicly a train of containers with two containers stacked ontop of each other in one flatcar. Henceforth, the name "double-stack". Some railroaders and railfans call them 'stack trains' as a way shorten the name

  • Looks like a locomotive set-up of the 1970's-80's. Very interesting power there.

  • Does this train really need 7 locomotives. That;s a lot of diesel being burned there
