@santibanez619 Basically the glass and digitizer are fused together. The digitizer is the ciruitry and sensors that detects touch. The "glass touch screen digitizer" is the part you will need to replace a cracked outer screen. These are available at RepairsUniverse (dot) com.
@samdukalis That is odd. Possible the LCD screen was damaged or the LCD flex cable was ripped or damaged? As for the power button, this is normally caused by a ripped flex button flex cable. The cable is extremely skinny and can be ripped very easily. I would check this out at the same time.
A few questions about replacing the glass and digitiser on the iPad 2: is it possible to get the glass off using just a heat gun and a suction cup? I don't want to use any pry tools I'm case I damage the bezel or any components. How fragile is the LCD once you have it open, will it easily crack ect? The glass is bonded to the iPad with 3m adhesive, when you remove the glass, does this stick to the glass, or the iPad? Ie, will I have to remove any adhesive from the inside of the iPad before I fi
@bigbadbenable It may be possible to remove with only heat and suction, assuming the you are using a high grade suction cup. Normally prying is required however. Safe open pry tools are great for this as they are softer plastic than the bezel, making damage highly unlikely. The LCD screen is very fragile once fully exposed. Take special care with it.
As for the adhesive, it will normally stick to both. Very difficult to get it all to come up as a full strip. Heat would be key for this.
@RepairsUniverse Great, thanks! Also, there is a white plastic surround between the glass and the aluminium on the iPad 2, is this part of the glass/digitiser or the aluminium (it is visible on the outside). I have repaired many iPhones, but I have never done an iPad, so I want to get it right first time, thanks! :)
@bigbadbenable No problem at all. The plastic will be part of the iPad (aluminium side). The touch screen comes out as only the touch screen, nothing else really attached to it (besides adhesive).
The iPad 2 is pretty simply. If you are familiar with Apple, then this should not be too difficult for you. Just take it slow and be patient. Good luck!
Hi. I have a HTC Rezound but the screen is cracked. How do I know if the screen needs to be replaced (as in the digitizer) or the LCD itself needs to be replaced
@300k20 If it is only the outer glass screen that is cracked, you will need to replace the "touch screen digitizer". If the display (image) has been damaged, this is the LCD screen. Replacement screens for the Rezound are available at RepairsUniverse (dot) com.
hay thanks for responding , I think the wi-fi is ok I just dident check it because its to hard to see with the flash light , I baught a new LCD screen and cable, someone told me that's what it was but not, I can't think that the motherbord is bad because everything works but the LCD, thanks for helping, because apple is not
@chris1vaz No problem at all. Sadly, the device may be totaled if that is the case. Was the device ever water damage? It does sound like a motherboard issue. This is a common issue on the iPod Touchs as well. Part of the motherboard may not be functioning properly, causing the LCD to work, but limited backlight. In those cases, multiple screen changes will not resolve the issue, as it is the motherboard itself causing it. May be wroth having it diagnosed by a local repair shop. Hope that helps!
this is what happen, changing the broken digitizer, witch still work fine, broke the power/ volume flex ribbon cable and the wi-fi flex ribbon cable replace that, then low light/ low visiblely, need a flashlight to see the pictures or objects on the screen, new digitizer works well, new power, volume, and angle switch works, can't see to well to see if wi-fi is working, new LCD screen new LCD cable, this ipad2 is too simple, processor, batterys, wi-fi, daughter bord camera, switches, cables
is there a setting in the program? how about the magnets that's on the side, what is that for? the processor is in a protective cover, batterys are charge, alarm clock goes off every day still, save this and please email this problem to everybody that may help, thank you very much, my daughter will very happy to get her ipad back, working
@chris1vaz Sorry, not sure I understand the current issue. Is it just the wifi that does not seem to work? Or is the LCD screen still not working properly after replacement?
@DePetru44o VERY rarely are cheap models OEM material. Cheap competitors are normally using inferior materials. This makes the durability of a new screen very low, making it more likely to fail or be damaged in the near future after replacing it. Save yourself some money in the long run and go with a high quality OEM replacement screen. These can be found at RepairsUniverse (dot) com.
@DePetru44o It is possible, but always check where the item is shipping from. Check out our current prices at RepairsUniverse (dot) com for a guess free purchase. We ship direct from our warehouse in the mid west of the USA.
@RepairsUniverse Your shop have reasonable price products. But I think they are manufactured in china anyway. So resellers fills their warehouses from china? am i wrong?
@DePetru44o Nearly all replacement parts and accessories are manufactured in China, however there are very reputable manufactures and ones who push cheap products. Also another thing to keep in mind is the fact that many suppliers are only located in China or Hong Kong, making ETA of a product normally around 1-4 weeks. Of course the final decision is up to you, the customer. You will not be disappointed with RepairsUniverse's products.

@RepairsUniverse and if it marked as 100% brand new OEM - it should be really same or it may be fake for price about 60$?
