I know of people that have had trouble with this set up pushing trash in to the seed trench, then that trash wicks moisture out of the seed trench (also known as Hairpinning). That dries out the seed and causes some seed to not germinate. Of course, we're talking about 250-300 bushel irrigated corn residue.

that works really nice with the coulter leading the row cleaner. we ve got martins on our 12 row kinze and they er ahead of the coulters they get blocked all the time its a real pain sometimes trying to plant in cornstalks. i ve got kinze row cleaners on my little sweetcorn planter the coulter leads just enough to cut the trash i like them better than the martin floating row cleaners. got the martin spades on the back with dragchains.
