  • I really love this song, this is how music suppose to be. Go girl.

  • 183,160 views? I was expecting around millions of views. It is one of her best songs!

  • I have finally found this song. I remember being a little 3 year-old listening to this song in the car with my parents. The days when I was still an only child(not that I don't appreciate having two siblings). It brings back the days when I was much younger, didn't know the word "politician".

  • Great song but if there is any criticism about the song, the sax part is a little drawn out at the end imho

  • So much memories with this song..still love it!

  • I'M CRYING NOW I BEEN LOOKING FOR THIS JAM FOR YEARS. It reminds me of my ex-fiance Maria Nunez 4give me baby sorry it didn't work out :( (tears)!

Ever since I listened to it at Vons Supermarket one day I wanted to know what it was called or the artist's name. A young man told me but I after all this time it completely erased.

Now I have it and will pass it to my new gf. I love you Adrienne <3

  • I was 8 years old when this song came out. Jody, Janet, and Paula Abdul were my favs. I was glad to have TALENTED and wonderful music idols, unlike some of the ones that are out here now.

  • Such a meaningful song that we all can relate to!

  • this song is beautiful

  • The best

  • this song was about Andre Cymone

  • @dexterferrell And you know this how? As a longtime Watley fan I recall she has said this was one of the few songs she recorded that she didn't co-pen because she liked it and related to the sentiment. It was written by Gardner Cole.It seems to me you are reaching because Andre Cymone was the producer of that second album so how would it be she was singing about him in past tense?

  • Sahe's from my home town!! To me she is more than Janet!! Janet only stood up because of michael!! Jody u are a legend of our time thank you!!

  • This woman was very beautiful.Your music is fantastic.I LOVE JODY WATLEY !

  • aaahhh...the memories of being 13....this is a dope song though....still

  • notice how 80s and 90s music had beautiful chords/melodies that plucked your heart strings and moved your soul. Good music can invoke positive behavior. Take heed my generation. -coming from a '87 baby

  • When she released this album I played the hell out of it. It was GREAT from start to finish!

  • @positivityforever me 2 4ever!! lol

  • Jody Watley has a style, a vision and a sound that is not totally compatible to general pop. However, I do have to say she earned a place in music and I am very glad she did. Always enjoyed her music! Have you guys noticed she has never made public scandals throughout her career? Isn't that awesome?

  • Thank you Jody ! It refreshes me to this very day. Praise God for you . THis was real music.... played millions of times still.---------------- miami mike devine

  • Bravo!! I love this song.

  • What some of you didnt know is that this single was the hardest Jody single to promote because it was a different style for Jody's listening audience "at the time" because she was penned to being loved for only dance r&b/pop music. So the record company had to work harder to get radio to embrace the song & i believe it because it took FOREVER to climb the pop charts til it FINALLY made it to #4

  • One of my ALL time Favorite artist and Songs Ever!!! Jody is Slept on and Very Under Rated but she is one of The BEST to ever do it!!! I Love her Voice!! Her style and music was and still is very Unique. She has her own style and is very comfortable with being REAL, instead of pretending to be someone she's not, like most artists these days. She's set aside from the Rest.

  • Loved her on Soul Train

  • nice memories....if I knew how was my future maybe I would have tried to change it........

  • This brings back memories... back in high school... what a wonderful song!

  • Jody Watley is the most stylish woman in the music industry!

  • I have to give it to Ms. Watley, not many artists can have as many Top 10 hits as she did from only 2 albums.

  • LOVE THIS SONG AND THE VIDEO!!! BIG FAN OF YOURS JODY!!

  • I've been looking for this song forever. I never knew the name of the artist that sang this song until I googled the lyrics. This song brings back so much memories. I wish I never broke up with my ex-girlfriend. I would do anything just to feel loved by her again. Great song.

  • Good grief 21 years already?!

  • everytime i hear this jam its take me be to the age i was, place i was living, and reminds me of the things i was doing, i was a little boy, carefree, and living life to the fullest i knew how.

  • Such a sad song.

  • Very nice song ,i remember it from 1990 ,good old times .Best regards from Greece.

  • Jody is really beautiful.----- I love her (and not in a sexual way----down the road maybe!) I love those "puppy dog eyes" and that smile ESPECIALLY in the first part of the video(with the hat)--and later on too. She reminds me of what would be a great girlfriend that would come over "chill out" eat pizza--- curl up on the couch take a nap and smoch and later on that night ----who knows

  • i love this song!!!

  • jody her and jeffrey legendary soul dancers of the mid 70's before shalamar, groovy

  • Jody Watley outsold just about all her label mates on that MCA records roster during the late 80's. I agree with MegaBlazing i can listen to this song over and over also.

  • wow great song at one time....i still love it espically thye saxophone part....i can listen to it over and over again

  • Blasted AT&T ad! Get me back to Comcast, any day. Anyway, Jody hit #4 in Billboard. God bless!

  • ok so i did a little research on jody watley and found out that she is around the age of my parents?!? I am shocked.

  • YOU WERE MY EVERYTHING!!...i use to love this song as a kid

  • I remember her with Shalamar. This is a lovely song still!

  • I truly love this song. simply said. A totally underated singer.

  • Haters!!! If you don't like her, don't watch her video. Jody's the best and has TRUE talent!!!

  • Ms. Watley has never been defined by the usual constraints, formulaic boxes or other limitations of pop success. Her music and style continues to shift, which is why I've always admired her more than say a Janet Jackson. Fell by the wayside or saying she wishes she had Janet's success is a quite unfortunate view. I suspect Ms. Watley is comfortable in her own career, she set trends. Listen or read some of her interviews. Unfortunately a lot of you buy into what you are force fed.

  • I'm sure she is quite comfortable too with her success, however, pound for pound, there's no comparsion of the two in my opinion. I will not defend my status on Janet b/c i don't have to, her career speaks for itself. and by the way, no one forces me to buy nor listen to, or follow artists i honestly don't like or those whom i find talentless, like many of the artists recording today.

  • @javarus80 I agree. Janet is a superb artist and performer. She may have gotten a boost from the Jackson name, but if she had not posess the talent, she would have been another Latoya, Rebbie, or Marlon at worse or Jermaine at best.. Jody got a tremendous boost from being a top Soul Train dancer during the height of it's popularity and as a member of Shalamar. Though most people liked Jody, they could never figure her out. She wore wild costumes more suitable for Europe than urban America.

  • @smoothiota4 Also, I never noticed a shift in Jody's style. Yes her sound was more mature, but that's because she was a grown young lady when she went solo. Janet was a child. Her voice is more mature now, although it may not be as much so, as Jody's.

Janet was more successful because she has utilized all her talents and she's been marketed better. Jody never really used her dancing skills as a solo artist.

  • @chicsensibilities you really cant compare the two jody i older she came out when micheal went solo you know end of disco so i know she was never wanting to be in the same light as her

  • I think Jody fell by the wayside only because of the label difficulties. Her style with dancing, clothing, was all picked apart by the other female artists of the mid-80's. Jody was the blueprint..
