@smokelahoma1 you should checkout more of their videos on the software to decide, there are other programs like flstudio out there as well, so it just depends on what you want.

its overrated because everything you do in it, you can do in Protools and more...the thing about these producers nowadays is that they dont master one DAW configuration, they jump from one software to the next..but never reaching a level of mastery in none of them. leaving themselves falling victim to the HYPE of new software.

@Vortex4001 uhhh...this was mainly about the hardware...which of course, didn't come out back in October 09 like it was supposed to. As far as the software, pro tools is a daw, it shouldn't be compared to some simple beat machine software lol.

@Vortex4001 I think you're right. You gotta develop a workflow pattern/your style and perfect it to a science. I've only been producing for a year. i would never switch something newer because I feel there is a huge area of untapped resource in the product I currently use. Having an understanding of your own creative mindset allows you to approach each product and taylor it to you, not the other way around. Just my 30 cents.

just bought my BEAT THANG and i have a pc im just wondering if there is anything i should know before sampling cus on a mpc the process is long but you get accurate beats is the BEAT THANG going to give me trouble because its a pc.... any other advise will help and make my experience good cus im not tryin to return it if this is the all in one tool....

if you're sampling from an external source you just hook it up to your soundcard, and make sure the software is using your soundcard as the input.

If it truly delivers, the beat thing will be a sick mf. I've had 3 MPCs and now I'm on a Fantom G + Korg PadKontrol + Logic and the Beat Thang looks really promising featurewise and INNOVATION. The integration they promise is incredibl, I just hope the hardware will deliver as most hardware these days really sucks when it comes to quality and durability.

I definitely feel you on that. The potential is there, and they said they went with metal casing for the build. The main thing to me is going to be the workflow, that's what has to be flawless, especially in these days of software that is becoming more and more like hardware. I really hope I can get on the beta team and test one out lol.

Well I have maschine, and it's a MONSTER, I think beat thang is a different tool. Reason is, I can't use maschine without the computer, beat thang I will be able to. I dunno, I def think it's gonna be ill, but I don't think it's competition is maschine.

SaintJoe.... they need to come correct now that Maschine is out. I want them to succeed in bringing out a hot product... but it the workflow is not as fast as maschine then it will be a problem. I mean for me the sampling and placing to pads must be QUICK... if its slow then thats not good. I hope these dudes get it right on the release. ...it could be a monster.

I agree man! I just got my maschine beta up and running, and dude it's so quick lol. It definitely sets the bar high, only difference is one needs the pc the other doesn't I'm anxious to see how it rocks man, I'm trying to get a beta unit lol. But maschine is the truth for real lol, I'm loving it. May post a vid of a sampled track I did lol, it's so freakin quick to tweak and edit, even without autochop I move quick man! I NEVER moved this fast wit samples on the mpc

Just so you know, Beat Thang Virtual is not a VST. It's a stand alone product. If you think that you will be ablt to open it in any host DAW, you will be disappointed.
