@LesFarrington Actually there are labor unions for all manual labor (also academic unions, but with far less members). And stockholders are not only the workers, but whoever want to buy stock, so mostly common people with several bigger investment companies or rich families in some of the big companies with big shares.

I am half american and half german and I really gotta say, the average german car is way better than the average US car.

As a matter of fact, only a few american cars can compete with a german car in the same class.

I like the Dodge Charger though...this car is the shit. But in the US you can afford a new car. German sales tax is 19% (aka Mehrwertsteuer). And we pay about a 1.50$ for a liter gas. Thats like 6 bucks per gallon.

Messed up right?

But Germany has the Autobahn ;-)

A good number of your "german" cars are produced by us domestic and japanese engineers. at well known companies such as Ford, GM and Toyota.

VW and its subsidiaries including Porche are pretty much the only "german" cars the country has. Not that you voicing your opinion about the Charger did not expose your complete lack of knowledge and taste in automobiles. A 4 door "muscle car" with terrible weight/thrust ratio. The thing can barely get out of its own way. The R/T is only slightly better.

@ReverendSyn I'm not really sure I understand the logic. Every vehicle produced anywhere is an amalgam of parts produced from multiple places. Typically those parts are mass produced in China/Korea/Hong Kong then shipped somewhere else to be made into a complex part and then shipped somewhere else to be assembled on a line into a vehicle.

The plant location is irrelevant, everything is so globalized that country of origin, or what you think is the origin, means less and less everyday.
